lmer / variance-covariance matrix random effects
Hello, has someone written by chance a function to extract the variance-covariance matrix from a lmer-object? I've noticed the VarCorr function, but it gives unhandy output. Regards, Roel de Jong

R + LaTeX formula
Hi, what is actually the best method to include R-plots into LaTeX documents? At the moment i use postscript("myplot.eps", width = 12.0, height = 9.0, horizontal = FALSE, onefile = TRUE, paper = "special",encoding = "TeXtext.enc") plot(foo, bar) dev.off() But it is a bit unhandy to scale later and its difficult to get nice formula in the plots. And how should

Using Access Control Lists with SMB2/SMB3 Mounts on Linux Clients
Thanks for the first reply, Jeremy. What about the (future) implementation of RichACL? Will there be any native Linux Client support along with the SMB2/SMB3 protocol? I know, there is a native implemenation for RichACLs in ext4 FS. Unfortunately, smbcals is not a native Linux ACL Tool and has a very unhandy syntax. I just tested some days ago. ;-) I am looking for a solution that allows the

Windows ACLs map quite well into RichACLs. Unfortunately Christolph Hellwig has peristently blocked any merge of the RichACLs code into the Linux kernel. If you use ZFS then you can use ZFSACLs which are quivalent. >

Album art - requirements

Users therefore want to embed them most times, as you can tell from other audio file formats: the majority of cover art is

[Corefonts] library not compiled to support large files
OS: openSUSE 11.0, simply chosen because Ubuntu has a horrible name, I'm not serious by the way. I tried to install the corefonts with winetricks. The usual Code: $ sh winetricks corefonts gives me Code: Executing cabextract -q --directory=/home/Laj/.wine/drive_c/winetrickstmp /home/Laj/.winetrickscache/webdin32.exe /home/Laj/.winetrickscache/webdin32.exe:[b] library not compiled to

Using Access Control Lists with SMB2/SMB3 Mounts on Linux Clients
Dear all, what is about the support for POSIX ACL in Samba protocol implementation of SMB2 and SMB3? >From what I extracted from SNIA and SambaXP developer conference talks and as well as the official Samba Wiki, support for POSIX ACL in SMB2 and SMB3 has been completely abandonned. Am I right? If so, is there any other possibility to allow Linux Clients to natively access access control lists

interpretation of dag output
I'm trying to figure out how to interpret DAG output that is shown below. If I were to draw it by hand, how would I do it? I tried to do it, but unfortunately I can't figure it out. I know there is a way to generate a graph, but I made some changes to my backend which hangs clang/llc. Would someone be kind enough to give a picture of what of a graph below? I'm sure once I see one I

bandwidth aggregation between 2 hosts in the same subnet
Hi, I''m trying to increase the bandwidth between two hosts (backup). Both hosts are in the same /24 subnet and each of them is connected to a Cisco switch by 2 GbE interfaces (intel e1000). The switches/host are located in different building which are connected by 3 x GbE. building A | building B | --------
