Subtracting timeseries objects
Sorry to keep posting but I want to do this right and I'm hoping for some pointers I now have two time series objects which I need to subtract. Unfortunatly the two series dont have the same sample rates. When I try to subtract them avgSub<-avg1-avg2 The time series object is clever enough to object. So I guess I need to write a function for subtraction of the time series objects which will need to interpolate the samples to the same sampling time...

how to prevent "blinking" when adding an element with an effect
Hi, I add a div to my document and use an effect to make it apear gracefully. Unfortunatly, when adding the element, the element apears shortly, then the effect (slideDown) lets it apear nicely - so the page flickers abit - What is the best practice to avoid it? Cheers, Ron

KEEPPXE/DOS
First off I love syslinux and it has worked flawless for us on the unix side of the realm. We're trying to use our ghost images within a dos netboot using syslinux. Unfortunatly we can only pass DHCP ip's to hosts that exhibit a vendor code 'like windows/pxe/and other os's do". Unfortunatly DOS does not, so we cannot request a second IP after the pxe process to map samba shares. From what I've read you can use the 'keeppxe' line and call the or...

Samba 3.0.12 (gid of user [joe] doesn't exist) Weird error when Client logs on.
Hi, I just recently purchased a new server and took this opportunity to upgrade to the latest version of samba (3.0.12). Unfortunatly, I have some weird occurances. I have a user called "joe" who is my admin user. In /etc/passwd I have this: joe:x:500:500:Joe:/home/joe:/bin/bash In /etc/group I have this: admin:x:500:joe id returns correctly: uid=500(joe) gid=500(admin) groups=500(admin) I have a very simple sam...

Question abt redirect_to..
...e to using attachment_fu and followed the lead of it but having an issue with the redirect_to that renders the fb:render tag - In my form I''m setting the canvas to false, file is being uploaded / save fine but when I attempt to redirect: redirect_to :action => :new, :canvas => true Unfortunatly it looks like my callback URL is getting printed twice, e.g. http://myserver.com/my_action/my_action/new I suppose I could write a helper to pull it out but there''s probably a better way.. Any thoughts? Thanks

[Xen-ia64-devel] flush_tlb_mask and grant_table on ia64
Hi, on IA64 flushing the whole TLB is very expensive: this is a cpu tlb flush and clearing 16MB of memory (virtual tlb). However, flushing an address range is rather cheap. Flushing an address range on every processors is also cheap (no IPI). Unfortunatly Xen common code flushes the whole TLB after unmapping grant reference. Currently, this is not done on IA64 because domain_dirty_cpumask is never set (bug!). We can flush TLB by range within destroy_grant_host_mapping. But then we need to disable the flush_tlb_mask call. What is the best solu...

Latest AMD, IOMMU Security Change causing CPU0 Panic and general Problems with AMD+IOMMU changes
Hi, unfortunatly your latest change "AMD,IOMMU: Clean up old entries in remapping tables when creating new one" (Changeset 26517 in xen-unstable and 25975 in xen-4.2-testing) is causing a CPU0 Panic at boot for me. When i tried to boot latest versions of xen unstable or xen-testing, my dom0 gives me the...

Tiny Network-Problem with Office Software
Hi, I am having some trouble to some Office software with wine. The Program itself starts without problems and runs quite fine. But unfortunatly I am not able to connect to our local Datebase. My Ubuntu Linux itself doesnt seem to have any problems in connecting to the server (but I admit that I don't know how to check if I can access the port 5143 that is used to connect to the database.). The faq told me that I should use hostname -i...

UpdateHostkeys now enabled by default
...rr(r)); > fputc('\n', f); > + /* If hashing is enabled, the IP address needs to go on its own line */ > + if (success && store_hash && ip != NULL) > + success = write_host_entry(f, ip, NULL, key, 1); > return success; > } > thanks for the patch, unfortunatly it doesn't solve the issue. ssh is still claiming that the ecdsa key present in known_hosts differs from the ed25519 key. And if I answer yes to the question known_hosts is not updated. The way to fix this is still to remove the ecdsa key from known_hosts manually. -- Matthieu Herrb

GXP-2000 1.1.0.13 Issues
...other 2 phones (MAC's 00:0B:82:09:xx:xx). One of these I upgraded to 1.1.0.13 (it came with 1.1.0.5) and pressed it into use. The Speaker phone does not work at all (no sound from the Speaker) and the phone completely hangs doing a soft-reboot, other than that the phone seems to work well. Unfortunatly I do not have a copy of 1.1.0.5 so cannot downgrade the phone. Has anyone else noticed these problems, or does anyone have a copy of 1.1.0.5. -Drew-

Selecting Samba Printer Port
...print to printers shared by Samba. When I double click on the printer icon, the queue opens and it says in the title bar, "Initializing", then "Failed to connect, Retrying". I was able to resolve this on Windows NT by created "Samba Printer Port" as a local port. Unfortunatly in Windows XP, everything is greyed on on the 'Ports' tab. The most I can do right now is create a "Samba Printer Port" by going into "Server Properties" and defining a global port for all the printers. But the problem that still remains is How can I tell my networks p...

Guest-domain has no login
Hi *, as this is my first post I want to say hello to everybody. Well, and unfortunatly I''ve already got a question for you: I''ve installed a guest domain (OS: CentOS 4) on my xen-machine and it''s para-virtualised (just to provide the information ;) ). After the installation and mount the image containing the guest to copy the necessary modules for the xen...

changing pen mode [or adjusting for overlapping points?]
...ge number of points [~24,000] in two series with slightly different distributions. I would like to be able to effectively see where the two distributions overlap by setting the pen mode (or it's equivalent) to allow the overlapping portion to show up as a different color (or different shade). Unfortunatly, I couldn't find an option in par or postscript that looks like it would be of use. Ideas or suggestions? Don Armstrong -- She was alot like starbucks. Usin ISO Linux & Memdisk to create a Viritual Floppy drive that Linux & Windows can load driver disk from.
Hi, It is becoming a bad habit for big OEM vendors to sell computers & servers without floppy drives. Unfortunatly both Windows and Linux (RedHat) need a floppy drive to load storage drivers etc. during installation. This is what I was thinking: Use ISOLINUX and MEMDISK to load a floppy image of a driver disk into memory as a viritual floppy drive "A:"/"/dev/fda" And then "chainload&qu...

Squirrelmail Change Dovecot Password Plugin
...Ghana and Nigeria. I recently built a Corporate Mail Server for a Company using Postfix, Dovecot and Squirrelmail, running on Ubuntu. Thanks to the Dovecot community everything is working well. After a moment i noticed that i could make the users change their own passwords using squirrelmail, but unfortunatly for me after googling around the Internet and also visiting squirrelmail plugin page i could not find a change Dovecot password plugin for squirrelmail. I want to throw this challenge to the Dovecot community to start a project on developing a change Dovecot password plugin for squirrelmail if non...

PXELINUX - TFTP Problems - Option Negotiation Failures
I apologize if this is the wrong place to be asking this, but I'm pretty much out of options on where to go. I'm using the pxelinux version of tftp. Everything has worked well up to this point, however I've been trying to impliment a pxe bartpe solution in our office. Unfortunatly tftp is not passing the files correctly to the client. Here's the rundown. Server client connects to server host, get pxe/dhcp/tftp. Get standard m32 menu and client selects windows pe options. The next step is where the client will call NTLDR from the tftp server, this works fine and the clie...

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc frontend 4 on intel darwin produces intel assembler
...ort now). But unfortunately 1.5 is for some benchmarks unstable (at least on my box) such that llc sigsegvs sometimes, etc. So I wanted to give 1.9 a go and build that on the my intel mac book. I did not bother to compile the llvm-gcc frontend myself so I donwloaded the precompiled tar ball. But unfortunatly doing a LLVMGCC/bin/gcc -S assembler, the generated assembyl is not in llvm representatino but in ia32?! also the target says: Target: i686-apple-darwin8 but the right? cc1 is taken: $HOME/Applications/llvm-gcc4-1.9-x86-darwin8/bin/../libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin8/4.0.1/cc1 -quiet -v -iprefix .....
