can't turn off password complexity requirements
Hello, I'm unsing Ubuntu 14.4 Server and samba 4.1.6-Ubuntu. Everything works great but I somehow fail to switch off the password complexity requirements. It is not unlikely that this is because I'm very unexperienced with Windows. I've heard that the password-settings are always a bit tricky and I did exactly what the windows-tutorials say. I've tried gpresult for several users and it always says, that it's ok. Are there any known problems with this setting? Is there a linux-way to ch...

RODBC Package
Hello R-Help, is there any way of using the RODBC Package on a Mac OS X System? If yes, what do I need to get it running. Concerning these issues, I am pretty unexperienced, so please state any step necessary. The actual problem is accessing data in Excel- files. (unfortunately no alternative way of entering the data). I already installed the Package, but it says the following: > versuch <- odbcConnectExcel("Thermanali-Versuch.xls") Error: couldn...

adding mean to boxplot
I am a new and unexperienced user of R and got so far as to know how to produce boxplots. I have no experience of messing with function code, so presently I do not know how to create a boxplot with group means instead of group medians. If somebody could help me either replace the median with the mean or superimpose the m...

'for' loop, two variables
Dear Rusers, I am still an unexperienced builder of functions and loops, so my question is very basic: Is it possible to introduce a second variable (j) into my loop. To examplify: # This works fine: fn <- function (x) {if (x>46 & x<52) 1 else 0} res <-NULL for (i in 40:60) res <-c(res,fn(i)) res # But here, th...

R-alpha: help files of base package
[this message bounced, because it had 'help' at beginning of Subject. Now sent as "approved". -- MM] I'm not happy at all with the html and latex version of the base help files, because presenting (currently) 320 files in alphabetic order is not a good way for unexperienced users. I'm thinking about introducing a new command like \category or whatever to split the help files up into parts like graphics commands random numbers linear models input/output ... such that we can organize things a little bit. this way we could also have a concise index of ALL func...

how to get a histogram of an POSIXct vector ?
Hi, search on web indicates that R also includes a hist method on POSIXct vectors. My (perhaps too unexperienced) approach below yields an error. Could somebody give me a hint what's wrong ? Peter > str(samples) `data.frame': 7500 obs. of 1 variable: $ DateTime:'POSIXct', format: chr "2006-07-20 00:10:08" "2006-07-20 00:11:17" "2006-07-20 00:11:23"...

sample configurations for samba-3.0.0
...In this directory there could be some subdirectories, i.e. called "pdc-ldap", "pdc", "simple-server", ... The file should contain typical setup-scenarios - i think that there are only few basic-types for installaing a samba-server. To find out this setup-types as a unexperienced samba-user needs many hours. I think it's better to have a working setup for doing experiments - than starting from scratch. [Wishlist] a 'PackageDevelopment' Task View
Hello everybody, as a young/unexperienced R package developer (only a few, mainly for personal use) i was thinking it could be very useful having a "meta" task view for all package-development related packages and/or function. Something like ... Creation - utils::package.skeleton, pkgKitten, Rcpp::Rcpp.package.skeleton Forei...

OpenLDAP Versions
...my other problem taken care of, but now I have a more theoretical question. I'm using CentOS 4.3, which is based on RHEL 4.3 and the OpenLDAP supplied is 2.2.13. I can hand compile a newer version but then odd things happen and the RHEL directories aren't as RH expects. (In short, I feel unexperienced enough to compile OpenLDAP for CentOS 4.3 properly.) I also can't find current RPM's for the current version of OpenLDAP. Ok, that all said, is there any reason I should NOT use OpenLDAP 2.2.13. Note that I'm going to generally be doing small installations on it - Samba PDC, shared...

lm Regression takes 24+ GB RAM - Error message
Hello, I am a rather unexperienced r-user (learned the language 1 month ago) and run into the following problem using a local computer with 6 cores & 24 GB RAM and R 2.15 64-bit. I didn't install any additional packages 1. Via the read.table command I load a data table (with different data types) which is about 730 MB lar...

RoR or Java for community portal?
...n where the advantages of Ruby and Rails are for this case. One thing I imagined was, that developing application pieces - we call them "modules" - will be easier to implement since Ruby gives something like built-in static crosscutting through mix-ins. Are there any experiences with unexperienced Java developers using Ruby? Or is it just a matter of taste, and I''m better off with sticking to the Java solution? Best regards Gregor Melhorn -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

After some time 4.3.9 Member Server in different Subnet than ADS controller loses trust
Upgrade to 4.4.3 that fixes a lot, like. > - net ads testjoin > > ads_connect: No logon servers > > Join to domain is not valid: No logon servers > > - wbinfo -g and wbinfo -u > > provide no output anymore. And dont forget to setup the ldap certificate part as described in the change log of 4.4.2. Anyone should avoid the version 4.2.9-4.2.11

Abrt Error abrt-cli list --since 1484935231
Hi, hopping everyone is fine. I am using a Centos 7 server based on Nginx. I am using the server for providing downloadable data. Around 8 TB per day is downloaded. The server was working fine and perfectly. I hired a freelancer to limit the download speed as i am unexperienced with linux (Worst Mistake Ever) he messed up the server and after 4 hours said he cant impletement a simple limit_rate in Nginx. So i said to him revert back the changes and he said its done. Since then i am getting this error abrt-cli list --since 1484935231 Error typed in terminal http://...

Then I tried to update myself by "apt-get source llvm", "uupdate" and modifying Debian scripts but I am too unexperienced. :( Peter

Function - replaceAllUsesWith
I could actually track down the cause of the problem: mainModue->getFunction("puts")->replaceAllUsesWith( llvm::ConstantExpr::getPointerCast( llvm::ConstantInt::get(llvm::IntegerType::get(context, 64), 0xF), mainModue->getFunction("puts")->getType() ) ); The problem is the line where I receive the type of the function "puts", it will crash the application
