Sorting Search results
I tried sorting the search results in Ferret::Index::Index#search and
what I found was that the sort is applied not to the whole search but to
the returned results.
Suppose I have these results:
Text - Num
foo - 2
bar - 3
far - 4
boo - 1
If I limit the search to the first two and sort by num I get:
foo - 2
bar - 3
while I think the natural behaviour would be:
boo - 1
foo - 2
Is this

uncompressed FLAC
Hi
i have seen that the dbPowerAmp ripping and encoding software supports a
new so-called "FLAC uncompressed" format, e.g.
http://www.audiostream.com/content/dbpoweramps-flac-lossless-uncompressed-wish-come-true
i know only the normal flac compression levels from 0 to 8. have i
missed an option on the flac comamnd line tool or how could i achieve
that on the linux command line

Encode wav to uncompressed flac
File size is not important for me. I need audio data from wav file and
metadata in one file. How to encode a wav file to an uncompressed flac file?

Maciej

uncompressed FLAC
What dbPowerAmp does is encapsulate the wav file into a FLAC container
without actually compressing it. I guess it can be a bit arguable if you
can technically call it a FLAC file :)
It's like using "Store" mode in RAR, for instance. The idea behing this
"uncompressed FLAC" is to give the FLAC tagging abilities to people who
don't want to compress their files. But

Encode wav to uncompressed flac
I thought that an uncompressed FLAC file provides better sound quality than
a compressed FLAC file.

Encode wav to uncompressed flac
There is no quality difference between FLAC variations - compressed
or uncompressed (unless you force a 24-bit audio file into a 16-bit
FLAC, but that may not even be possible). The only thing that varies
with FLAC is the size of the file. There are many ways to store the
same data, some more efficient than others. FLAC ensures that the
exact same audio samples will reach your playback

really? ;-)
the problem is that there is no standarized way to store metadata in a
WAVE file, like with FLAC tags / vorbis comments in flac files....

Uncompressing dboxes
Hello.
I have an mdbox directory that has been created with the zlib plugin
active, using bzip2 compression. I would now like to convert these
into uncompressed mdbox format. How do I do this? I have tried
unsetting all zlib-related configuration options, but dsync still
produces compressed mdbox at the other end, too.
I guess I could convert to mbox, and then back to mdbox, but for

yes I know I can do that, but my question is if there is software to edit
FLAC files without having to uncompress to WAV/recompress to FLAC.
