Roxygen - basic usage uncertain
I am trying to make a package consisting of a single function with auto-documentation assistance from 'roxygen' but am uncertain of the correct procedure. My version of 'R' is 2.10.1. I followed the following steps: 1) Get an existing function (un-commented) as an '.R' file. 2) Add formal comments (e.g. owner) above that function's code using the [#' @] syntax. 3) Create a further '.R' fil...

redirect_to an uncertain hash
I am trying to deal with a redirection based upon what to do after a session has expired. I take the params hash and stuff it into a new session as part of the new login and then after login, I want to redirect to this hash as though they were params again... Thus I start by setting session[:direct_to] = @params And after I login, I want to redirect based upon the values in

Mappery : uncertain Thinkpads (Repost?)
Followups set, hesitantly, to gmane.linux.redhat.fedora.general I thought I had posted this to both these groups, but my newsreader doesn't show it in either. I have three Garmin GPSs (an Etrex Vista and two Rino 120s), which I want to use under Fedora 11 Linux with four PCs, and two IBM- reconditioned Thinkpads, T30 & T42. Kernel 2.4 or 2.6 for the latest asterisk ??
Hi there Just a quick question. I have been playing around with asterisk CVS-1.0.02 on fedora core 1 (2.4 kernel) and I would like to have a look at asterisk v 1.0.6 but am still a little uncertain which linux kernel is best to run on ?, can I use Fedora Core 3 (is it the preferred kernel) or should I stick with FC1 Ps - the only additional hardware in the box will be a digium single port E1 Any advice would be greatly appreciated Gary

Non-GPL packages for R
...e excluded from CRAN, but that they could be available on a repository such as r-forge. However, we would like to see a clearer indication of the license status on r-forge. One possibility is an inclusion of a statement and/or icon indicating such status e.g., green for GPL or equivalent, amber for uncertain, red for restricted. Another may be a division of directories, so that GPL-equivalent packages are kept separate from uncertain or restricted licensed ones. We welcome comments and suggestions on both the concept and the technicalities. John Nash & Ravi Varadhan

xmms module update
...faster, I actually listened to the song I encoded all the way to the end, at which point the thing segv'd. Through a little easter egging, I managed to trace the problem down to a call to vorbis_dsp_clear(). I've just commented it out in the current source. As to why it's segving I am uncertain, but, save possible memory leaks, everything seems to be back in order... Thanks go out to Peter and Monty. What do you use to provision domU's?
The subject says it all. I got CentOS 6.4 installed and then converted it to boot into the Xen kernel, using the C6.4 system as its dom0. But now I'm uncertain how to put a C6.4 domU on the result. Which tools are recommended?

OpenSSH Security Advisory: buffer.adv
This is the 1st revision of the Advisory. This document can be found at: http://www.openssh.com/txt/buffer.adv 1. Versions affected: All versions of OpenSSH's sshd prior to 3.7 contain a buffer management error. It is uncertain whether this error is potentially exploitable, however, we prefer to see bugs fixed proactively. 2. Solution: Upgrade to OpenSSH 3.7 or apply the following patch. R help
...ne could provide me with help in entering the attached dataset into R? I've been having a hard time in trying to figure out how to assemble it into both a frequency table and a bar graph within R. I've been trying to present the way I have the data arranged in Excel Spreadsheet into R. I am uncertain what the correct commands and exact techniques are into getting it correctly organized in R. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Laura Clasemann

function on factors - how best to proceed
Sorry about this one being long, and I apologise beforehand if there is something obvious here that I have missed. I am new to creating my own functions in R, and I am uncertain of how they work. I have a data set that I have read into a data frame: > gctable[1:5,] refseq geometry X60_origin X60_terminus length kingdom 1 NC_009484 cir 1790000 773000 3389227 Bacteria 2 NC_009484 cir 1790000 773000 3389227 Bacteria 3 NC_009484 cir...

Adding new a new type
...emicals. More specifically, there are several reactive groups that exist: salts, bases, acids, etc. that adequately represent their respective values. I, for obvious reasons, want to manifest those types in LLVM so I can type check a given input and use LLVM for all my compilation needs. I'm uncertain what I should do with respect to LLVM and the guidance the documentation provides for adding new types. error message obtained when plotting survival curves (error not previously obtained)
Hello, I now receive an error message when obtaining a survival plot, which was not previously received with the same code. I recently updated all my packages. It does not seem to be a peculiarity of my data as I receive the error using data available in R. A plot is produced but I am uncertain regarding the error message. > library(surv2sample) > data(gastric) > fit <- survfit(Surv(time, event) ~ treatment, data = gastric) Error in get(x, envir = ns, inherits = FALSE) : variable "survfit.km" was not found > #Default plot: > plot(fit) regards Bob...

Moving Samba/LDAP PDC to another server
I need to move our existing Samba/LDAP PDC to another server. Currently it is on server1 and I want server2 to be the Samba/LDAP PDC instead. However, I am uncertain of what files need to be copied over to ensure that I don't have to rejoin machines to the domain. Searching the web I found information on creating the initial PDC setup, but nothing on moving the PDC. I also have a system SAMBA/LDAP BDC running (server3) as a slave ldap server. If is it ea...

Anyone tried tinc with TCP-BBR?
I understand the concern of uncertain for TCP-over-TCP by BBR, as the BBR is natively designed to optimize TCP, instead of TCP-over-TCP, but could you articulate a bit more about the beneficial of “sending host when there is a UDP tinc tunnel” in the middle”? > On 30 Sep 2017, at 11:23 AM, Ryan Mounce <ryan at mounce.com.au>...

Fast Kendall's Tau
Hello. Has any further action been taken regarding implementing David Simcha's fast Kendall tau code (now found in the package pcaPP as cor.fk) into R-base? It is literally hundreds of times faster, although I am uncertain as to whether he wrote code for testing the significance of the parameter. The last mention I have seen of this was in 2010 <https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2010-February/056745.html>. Thank you, --Avraham Adler

So sorry! was: Re: EL 6 rollout strategies? (Scientific Linux)
...e current situation. I'm a developer; this type of situation is unfortunately common and can be frustrating for all involved, and just cannot be completely avoided! The choices are clear, however: 1) Stick w/CentOS, get a high quality, highly compatible release at little/no cost, with an uncertain release date. 2) Switch to SL, get a high quality, reduced compatibility release (due to slightly different goals and qualities) at little/no cost, right now; 3) Switch to RHEL, get a quality release at significant cost, right now. 4) Complain loudly about how it's not perfect and/or get ang...
