Problem with file system
While I untar a large archive on xfs , ext3 (ver 1.3 and ver 1.4) file
systems , on ppc processor and kernel ver 2.6.21 , I get an error. Also
sometimes, on ext3 (1.3 and 1.4) the file system goes read-only while
untarring.
The same tar file when untarred on a i386 machine works properly.

evaluation in unattached namespace
Hi,
I recently discovered this buglet in lattice: If lattice is _not_
attached, I get

Error in eval(expr, envir, enclos) : could not find function "bwplot"
This happens because of this:

Secondary disk unattached if guest unresponsive and killed with 'virsh destroy'
....
- Before virsh destroy, 'virsh dumpxml guest | grep vd[ab]' returns the
expected filesystems.
- Guest is destroyed from the hypervisor via 'virsh destroy guest'.
- With guest still powered off, 'virsh dumpxml guest | grep vd[ab]' only
shows 'vda'. 'vdb' now unattached.
- To fix, requires re-run of 'virsh attach-device guest
guest-with-secondary-disk-01/disk2.xml --persistent'
Expected Behavior:
- 'virsh destroy guest' does not drop the secondary disk attached to the
guest if the node is in a hung state.
Other notes:
- If guest is not in a hun...

dom movement methods, unattached objects
Hey guys
I have a bunch of element fragments (ie this might be a div, with children
of an image, another div) etc which aren''t attached to the document yet..
and can''t seem to call the dom manipulation methods on them:
down(''img.icon'') returns undefined but if I look at the innerHTML of the
element, there is clearly an image there with that class.
Is this is

Crashed filesystem - directory recovery
Hello folks,
I had an ext3 filesystem mounted as the root of a Linux MOO server.
Unfortunately, the filesystem was on one of the infamous DTLA-3070xx
drives - and the drive decided to fail at the worst moment it
possibly could, trashing the filesystem fairly well.
The situation is as follows: I used dd_rescue to create an image of
what is left of the filesystem, but I ended up with some 65MB

...ted with a controller/view? Is this even possible? I
understand the nature of Rails is such that it does "just in time"
work, but I''m hoping to twist it to my own nefarious purposes.
Am I even making sense? Anyone have any ideas on how to do long
running processes that are unattached to any specific controller/view
instance?

APC Smart-ups "status codes" (slightly OT)
We got replacement battery "kits" for some of our APC UPS' (Smart-UPS,
rackmount). I put them into one tray (it's for an RBC 43, which takes 8,
and weighs a ton), and put it in, and let it charge. Idiot "change
battery" led stays on. So I hit the test button, it discharges very
rapidly (a good number of servers on this), and the led stays on.
For some reason,

What I would like to do is within an R API, test a mysql connection object for an error (server has gone away) and if the connection is functional leave it alone; otherwise, kill it if it is unattached, then refresh the connection and continue with my program executions. I have tried making a simple dummy table with one value and something like
