ScrapeR Unanticipated XML objects
Dear All, I have come across a very surprising result as I have started to learn how to use R to pull data from the web for analysis. I am trying to isolate that table headers for the quarterly income statement (qtrinc) that I pulled from Google finance. I executed the following commands after installing the scrapeR package. require(scrapeR)

...;regular" samba users to not have local login privs. (LDAP will handle all unix and samba accounts.) So, to that end, I thought changing the options in smbldap.conf, specifically... userLoginShell="/bin/bash" to something like userLoginShell="/sbin/nologin" Is there some unanticipated impact that would make this unwise? Is this the best way to accomplish the task? Finally, are there other places I need to handle this for it to work as I intend? TIA -Greg

Evan, thoughts? Previously the inliner assign each basic block cost of 20. So this line is simply estimating the number of caller basic blocks. My tweak simply removed the number of basic blocks from the equation so the cost of a...

Disabling password expiry for a AD service account for accessing LDAPS, and security best practices.
...ould I replicate similar behaviour when I do a create users at the command-line via samba-tool user create - are there command-line switches for samba-tool user create that provide such features? I ask is because I don't want password expiry to ever occur for this special account because an unanticipated expiry would then prevent access to all services using LDAP for authentication. 2) Could people provide guidance about security best practices with such service "AD" accounts not intended for actual human use? Ideally I want to prevent users actually logging in as LDAPReader, and I ob...

successful ATI card for WINE gaming?
Is there current or semi-current ATI video card that people are having good luck with for video games through WINE? I'm going to need a new card soon and we have had a long run of bad luck with the quality of Nvidia cards so I would like to give ATI a try. I know the driver improvements for Linux have been slow to arrive, but if anyone has a card they can recommend it would give me a

Hi all, We're completely stuck helpless with our CentOS system which we've been using as a VM server. After an unanticipated system upgrade, we can't get virsh or virt-manager to connect to libvirt anymore. It gets completely stuck during startup, trying to connect. One of the suspicious things we've seen is the following: [root at ana libvirt]# netstat | grep /var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock unix 3 [ ]...

This report is also user error which is not always caught. However, please don't say that something has `not been fulfilled' when it works exactly as documented but punishes misuse too severely. It really is hard to anticipate just how silly users can be. > Of coarse, R i...
