Camping and ruby2ruby
Hi everybody,
I would like to use ruby2ruby in a caming project, but there seems to
be an incompatibility with camping, ruby2ruby and markaby.
Unfortunately I receive strange Markaby::InvalidXhtmlErrors.
To demonstrate, that only combination of all three components causes
the problem I added the following code. I relies on Markaby and
ruby2ruby only and works fine (a.k.a. as expected).

Tutorial on building Rails framework from scratch
Hi,
Does a tutorial exist about building a simple version of Rails from
scratch? I think this would be a great exercise to understand how
things work internally.
Thanks,

polkit helper timeout and defunct pkla-check-authorization processes on CentOS 7.3
...7.3 machines. The problem
seems to revolve around polkitd. At some random time, polkitd seems to stop
responding on my systems. Along with this, there might be hundreds of
defunct pkla-check-authorization processes. If I reboot, then things are
fine for a while.
I don't see any activity in the unabridged journal to suggest anything that
might be triggering polkitd. The puppet run finished 5 minutes before
polkitd lost it's head.
polkit version is polkit-0.112-11.el7_3.x86_64
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason

customizing global request handler
what is the cleanest way to do something for every request of a particular type (Verb, and Content-Type header)? i''m trying to figure out if shipping a custom camping.rb is avoidable, and if, how i should structure a patch
my app http://whats-your.name/yard/ uses exclusively JSON based messaging between server and client. this means POST bodies are JSON, and not querystring.. camping

Here's the failing tests for rc2 on SLES11.3 (glibc 2.11, libstdc++4.7).
I've done some amount of triaging what some critical elements of the

CampingConf?
Campers --
In a few weeks there will be a bunch of people in Portland, OR, for a
conference. A long time ago some campers mentioned that might be a
good time for us to get together and hold a mini CampingConf for a few
hours. Is anyone interested? Does anyone want to organize it?
I''m thinking Wednesday night, May 16.
We could possibly get a spot at FreeGeek (not likely since they are

about PATH_INFO and FastCGI
in one of my recent email, I add .to_s to PATH_INFO in camping code.
actually, this is probably very wrong. the problem is probably something
like PATH_INFO does not exist when using FastCGI.
I have not done all my homework, but so far what I found is lighttpd has a
special option
"broken-scriptfilename": breaks SCRIPT_FILENAME in a wat that PHP can
extract PATH_INFO from it (default:

...d Camping::CookieSession or???
* The ActiveRecord session is named Camping::ARSession and is placed in
camping/ar/session.rb. Maybe it should be called Camping::AR::Session or???
* The documentation of cookie sessions is just utterly wrong. Can someone
clean it up?
* The documentation in camping-unabridged.rb and README are almost duplicates.
camping-unabridged.rb should only contain about the differences between
camping.rb and camping-unabrdiged.rb, while README should be all about Camping
(IMO). We must also add that apps should be run using Rack, and The Camping
Server is only for development.

+ camping/session
Camping now comes with a sessioning class, checked in tonight.
To get sessions working for your application:
1. require ''camping/session''
2. include Camping::Session in your application''s toplevel module.
3. In your application''s create method, add a call to
Camping::Models::Schema.create_schema
4. Throughout your application, use the @state

3.9.1-rc2 is ready for testing
Hi,
I just tagged 3.9.1-rc2, so testing can begin. There was a bug found in
-rc1 before I could send out a release announcement, so I decided to merge
the fix and tag -rc2 to save some testing cycles.
We can always use more testers, so if you are interested in helping, let
me know.
Thanks,
Tom

[Bug 70390] New: G84: Repeated system crashes under graphics load, E[PFIFO] DMA_PUSHER and lots of E[PGRAPH]
...ents, this might be a quick starting point.
The crashes themselves aren't reported as Oops, or maybe they are but the file
system is already unavailable by that time, so I don't notice. Unfortunately I
don't have a serial terminal attached for logging at all times.
I'll attach the unabridged logs shortly, but I can't even know whether these
successfully flushed all their data. I'll give a few details on each of these
incidents with the corresponding unabridged log.

Encoding
What''s a good solution for fixing character encoding problems for
compatibility between ascii and utf-8? The database is postgres and
is encoded in utf-8.
Once in awhile there will be a compatibility error from strings from a
webform.
Is there a command to fix this besides using
a_string.force_encoding(''utf-8'')? Even this doesn''t seem to always
work either.
