What version to choose...
...station or a Win2K server Intel box. From what I can tell about the package from the on-line documentation, it seems that the unix version would be the better one to go with - however, it does seem as though it would be better on a Linux box. As for using it, the users have a mixed bunch of Ultra10's and PC's from which they can all X-window to the Solaris box or access the NT server. Which way to you recommend going? Thank you! Debugging ssh-keygen dsa on Solaris8
...Below is some output from dbx: (The core I am examining here comes from the make install...when it trys to create the private/public dsa keys.) (If there is anything else I can do to help let me know. The system is 5.8 Generic_108528-08 with the recommended patch cluster from July 11th. This is an Ultra10 workstation) I also have the same problem using gcc 2.95.3 on Solaris 8 and Solaris 2.6. problem with installation from source on linux and solaris
On the solaris 7 box, using the Sun make, the configuration works ok. Even running make works ok. However, when I run "make check" all of the tests fail. It's a standard Ultra10, with full patches applied... and there are no errors generated during the make... On the RH6.x linux box, configure works, make works, make check works, make install works. Hey, I can even see the R binary that gets dropped into /usr/local/R-1.1.1/bin. But when I try to run it, I get a text me...

nmbd will not run
I had been using and running samba (ver 3.0.23b) with no problems. I installed a new hard drive on my ultra10 ( I know old). Now nmbd will not run. When I issue svcs it indicates maintenance required but I can't figure what is wrong. Any suggestions/ideas will be entertained. --

...er patch in the past to fix the problem, however that is not true. The only way I can compile openssh and have it work is to do the following suggest from people on this list. Others should be able to replicate my problems easily. I am reporting back now, because I finally got a chance to rejump my Ultra10 that I used to do the compile. If nobody else has these problems then something else must be wrong on my machine, but I don't see what. I built the following from source with Sun Forte 6 update 2: zlib 1.1.3 openssl 0.9.6b tcp_wrappers skey libraries prngd0.9.23 (Oh and skey does not work......

contrib/solaris/buildpkg.sh - use within JumpStart as well?
Hello, I don't know how off the wall this question will be, but first let me say that I've found your buildpkg.sh script very useful in creating an OpenSSH package for use on my Solaris systems. Currently I'm trying to set up a fully automated JumpStart system at my workplace, and I'm realizing that the 'postinstall' script (and possibly some of the other install scripts)

Broken Pipe Errors
Hi there everyone! One of the users complained to me that yesterday, he suddenly couldn't access the network. He was online the whole day, then suddenly at around 6:45pm he couldn't write. A restart of his workstation rendered him completely disconnected from the Samba domain. Server is running Samba 2.0.6 on a RedHat 6.0 machine with Linux kernel 2.2.13. Client is running Windows95 OSR2
