Samba 2.2.5: denying access to printer...
Hy there, I have a problem with Samba 2.2.5 (on AIX 4.3) concerning a printer share. I set up a few printer share which work well. Now I want to restrict the access to one of them. In order to achieve this I put in a hosts deny=all hosts allow=<IP-Adresses of hosts, which should be allowed to print> in the corresponding printer-share-section. What happens is this: non

MS authentification with white space
Hi together, with our first implementation of Samba running under Linux on s/390 we are running in problems because some of our users authentificate to the windows domain with their full name, i.e. "maenz ullrich". Logon to Samba services failed because user (and password) verification seems to stop at that whitespace without ignoring it - by the way, it's impossible to create

FIASCO
[ cc'd to the vorbis list because I thought y'all would be interested ] Hi, I saw the freshmeat.net posting for FIASCO (http://ulli.linuxave.net/fiasco/) this afternoon, and was really excited another bright mind had put some cool A/V software out for free. I was wondering if you have ever heard of the Ogg and Vorbis projects (more info on them at xiph.org). They are

libvirt API reference disappeared from website
Hi, I think the API Reference for libvirt disappeared from libvirt.org: browsing to http://libvirt.org/html/libvirt-libvirt.html delivers no content. The content is still available via google cache http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:libvirt.org/html/libvirt-libvirt.html So, is this removed on purpose? Or is this some bluff from my browser (but I checked this from different

Cygwin: store authorized_keys in /etc/ssh/user/authorized_keys?
Hi folks, If I try to login on a Cygwin host via ssh, then my .ssh on a network drive is unaccessible until I login. I have to enter my password, even if my authorized_keys would allow me to login without. This is fatal, since it forces me to use an interactive session for working on a Windows host. Unusable for automatic builds and tests managed from a central machine, for example. There is no

4 important bugs again <;
hello everyone, thanks to todd 1.2.21 is out :) every release getting better, i would like to get consensus on these "important" bugs: #252078 logtail: should depend on perl >= 5.8 sarge as any other modern linux distro use perl 5.8.x, it's even inside of its base. backports are under the peril of its author if no one voices up, i'll close that bug in the next days.

Hi all, With the help of Tomas, I was able to track the issue down: Prior to R v3.6.0 the parallel package passes an uninitialized variable as the file descriptor argument to the close system call. In my particular R session this uninitialized variable (reproducibly) was holding the value 7, which corresponded to the file descriptor of the write end of the pipe the second child would use to

Hi Andreas, thank you very much, good job finding it was EBADF. Now the question is why the pipe has been closed prematurely; it could be accidentally by R (a race condition in the cleanup code in fork.c) or possibly by some other code running in the same process (maybe the R program itself or some other code it runs). Maybe we can take this off the list and come back when we know the cause
