Trouble updating to latest version of R
Dear R Debian People:
I'm trying to update a computer that I do not use often to the latest version of R.
Here is the problem:
debian:/home/erinh# apt-get -t unstable install r-base r-base-dev
Reading package lists... Error!
E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room
E: Error occurred while processing uim-utils (NewVersion1)
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.egr.msu.edu_debian_dists_etch_main_binary-i386_Packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
Does this look familiar, please? Any suggestions for a fix, please?

Would you host our project on freedesktop.org?
Now, our project needs mailing list for open discussion, open repository,
bug tracking system, and so on. Our project is still growing heavy and
needs such resources. And, we cooperate with uim and scim mainly about
how input method's API should be.

a program once it's been started. GTK+ 2 and Qt 4 both appear to provide
their own seemingly incompatible standards, whereby an input method can
be made to work only in GTK+ 2 or Qt 4 with minimal configuration.
Finally, there are third-party solutions like SCIM, UIM and IIIMF, which
aim to unify the pre-existing interfaces into one, handing input methods
via software that in turn uses one of the pre-existing solutions to
communicate with programs. These unfortunately don't always work
satisfactorily and can be hard to set up for some users.

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
