sample mean, variance and SD
hi
could you help me to solve this issue
Question:
Using command rweibull(100,8,15), simulate n = 100 realizations from
Weibull(8; 15) distribution. Using the simulated sample, compute the sample
mean, variance and standard deviation of these observations.
I am trying like this
sim<-rweibull(100,8,15) # simulated sample
SM<-mean(sim) # simulated sample mean
var(sim) # variance

How to call directly "dotTcl" C-function of the tcltk-package from the C-code of an external package?
...lso a bit puzzled
a) that the .External lookup is so slow that you need to bypass it (would have thought that the byte compiler could speed it up)
b) that you don't use dotTclObjv and friends to avoid parsing on the Tcl side.

readLines() and unz() and non-empty final line
Hi,
you could use "scan" instead, it seems to work fine also when wrapped
around "unz".
Or, alternatively, you could use "unzip" instead of "unz". It works as
expected, i.e. reads the last incomplete line and throws a warning about
this.
So it seems to me that "unz" creates a non-blocking connection, whereas
"unzip" creates a

How to call directly "dotTcl" C-function of the tcltk-package from the C-code of an external package?
I have a use case with tcltk-package where I need to repeatedly call Tcl/Tk functions
very quickly. For such purpose, the standard R-interface turned out to be too slow, and
better option has been to call package's C-function dotTcl directly from my own C-code.
Before R 4.4.0 it was possible to use getNativeSymbolInfo("dotTcl","tcltk")$address (or

Is there a sexy way ...?
I have (toy example):
x <- list(`1` = c(7, 13, 1, 4, 10),
`2` = c(2, 5, 14, 8, 11),
`3` = c(6, 9, 15, 12, 3))
and
f <- factor(rep(1:3,5))
I want to create a vector v of length 15 such that the entries of v,
corresponding to level l of f are the entries of x[[l]]. I.e. I want
v to equal
c(7, 2, 6, 13, 5, 9, 1, 14, 15, 4, 8, 12, 10, 11, 3)
I can create v

nsd-4.0.0b5(and rc2) and changing zone from master to slave ?
Hi,
I'm doing some quick tests with nsd-4.0.0b5 and (rc2). And found
something strange when changing (nsd-control reconfig) one
zone from:
zone:
name: 10.in-addr.arpa
zonefile: /zones/empty.zone
to
zone:
name: 10.in-addr.arpa
request-xfr: 192.168.122.12 NOKEY
allow-notify: 192.168.122.12 NOKEY
zonefile: /zones/slave/10.rev
and doing nsd-control reconfig.
