Problem with non-interactive shells on Sol8 with 3.7.1p1
...taken out around
3.6.1p2, but nothing that came right out and stated, "Yep, this is a
problem we see on Solaris <version>".
Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas how to trouble-shoot and solve this
problem? Meanwhile, we'll keep digging...
Thanks,
Ed

Problem connecting to v2.9.9p2 on Solaris 8
...ng wrong here? From a layman's point of view, it
would appear that Putty and OpenSSH can't decide on key algorithms... but
why would this happen? I use Putty to connect to other
OpenSSH2.9.9p2/Sol8 installs (the same compiled code) and it works fine...

sshd can't change expired password on Sol8 with Openssh3.0p1 + PAM
...to this at our site even though
we probably don't have pam_unix.so patched up. Also, the passwd command
doesn't even work if you have something besides "files", "nis" or "nis+"
in the passwd line of /etc/nsswitch.conf (which we do).

HELP: problem getting Samba to connect - "ERRSRV - ERRinvnetname"?
Dear list readers:
I've installed the most recent Samba from source on my Redhat Linux
server. The simple file share I've made shows up, the machine pings
correctly, and does ftp and apache fine, but won't let anyone login to
Samba. For example:
$ smbclient '//WWW.PSYCH.UDEL.EDU/SIMPLE/' -U me
added interface ip=128.175.41.164 bcast=128.175.41.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Password:
Domain=[SIMPLE] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.7]
tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRinvnetname (Invalid network name in tree
connect.)
Any idea what this error means????
I've checked thin...

Problem compiling 2.9.9p2 on Sol 2.6
It appears that "fixpaths" has "/usr/bin/perl" hard-coded in. This causes
make to fail immediately after running configure.

Solaris 7 changing password via PAM reply
Hi,
Sorry no core dumps, the sshd programme is perfectly happy just fails to

OpenSSH3.0p1/PAM/Sol8
Hi there,
I just tried out OpenSSH3.0p1 running on Solaris 8 with PAM (--with-PAM).
The problem was mentioned some time ago and is still there :-(
When a password is expired you are prompted to change it now, enter your
login password and after doing so you are instantly disconnected. I think
this is a problem with PAM and not SSH, but how can I get a solution on this
?
sshd is running without

What's smbwrapper for? It's a --with- option given by ./configure
--help, but none of my docs mention it.

X11 cookies and forwarding
...ot; cookie (which
might actually be another "fake" cookie if you are chaining your ssh
invocations?).
So what's the real issue here... having ssh create a "fake" cookie and
that gets copied to the server side... in the user's home directory?

PAM session cleanup on Sol8 with v2.9.9p2
...syslog (which are suppressed by default).
I excpect this is an annoying problem for anyone doing SECURE_RPC on
Solaris. I happened to notice this while turning on all kinds of
debugging to figure out what's causing the problem where new passwords are
echoed on Sol8.

TCP wrappers and 2.9.9p2
...ou do a "./configure ... --with-tcp-wrappers", there's no way
to specify a location for tcpd.h and libwrap.a. This is troublesome on
Solaris where you might install stuff like that in /opt/lib or
/usr/local/lib or something that is not searched by default.

Can someone tell be briefly how to get OpenSSH3.1p1 configured and

Problem with Sol8 and LDAP
Hi, i am experiencing a problem with ssh 3.0.2.p1 running on Solaris 2.8.
Everything works fine with local users (i.e. with local passwd and shadow
entries). With LDAP authenticated users, i obtain:
treno at tao[!] -> ssh -v
Segmentation Fault (core dumped)
The probem is the same with 2.x releases.
Thank you,

Expired passwords on Solaris with PAM
...se() gets called, but doesn't seem to be working
correctly on Sol8 - meaning, it doesn't correctly disable echo. Would it
be possible to use getpass() on Solaris instead for the TTY case
(although, getpass() is not MT-Safe if that matters to anyone). Any
ideas?
