Problem installing R 3.4 in Ubuntu 16.04
Hello,
I'm trying to install R version 3.4 in Ubuntu 16.04 by following the
instructions here:
https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/README.html
First, I added the line 'deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubunutu
xenial/' to sources.list.
Next I ran the following command:
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys
E298A3A825C0D65DFD57CBB651716619E084DAB9
This seemed to work fine.
But when I then ran sudo apt-get update, I got the following output (I'm
omitting earlier lines that...

problem with ocfs2 is that i've been unable to configure it to utilize
cman's stack to provide proper locking for ctdb. gfs2 is up next.
does anyone have any pointers/tutorials/document for getting ocfs2 set up
with cman on ubunutu?
thanks.

A visual basic 6 program using html help
I am trying to get a program that I wrote working on Ubunutu Feisty

HTML help to deliver its help messages. So far everything work fine
except the HTML help. When the user clicks on a control that is
intended to bring up the help browser, nothing happens. In the visual

Can not logon to domain:
...n_creds_server_check failed. Rejecting auth request from client
COMPUTER machine account COMPUTER$
After reading some googled solution nothing seems be relevant for me ...
I tried to enable WINS - nothing.
I set new machine joining it without problem, but now can not logon.
Samba version 3.5.11 (Ubunutu 11.10)
Ldap: 2.4.25
Machines: WinXP and Win7
For moment we setup local account to login, but profile is not loaded -
as expected - what is kind of blocking.
Note: I have two PDC on net. One works ok (debian testing), other not
(ubuntu).

Getting confused with two versions of R
Hi there, I used to run R 2.10 on Ubunutu 10.04, and tried to install R 2.11 from the source at the same time.It seems that doing the second installation, I have messed up with some files or system paths, resulting in not being able to use either version of R on my system.
I get the following message in terminal, whenever I try to run R no...

Ubuntu 8.04 breaks samba file locking
...rent users can have the same file open at the same time
and edit it.
Server is RedHat 9.0 running Samba 2.2.7a-security-rollup-fix. This has been
working well for us for several years. Have one WinXP box accessing the server
using OOo 2.0. Have another couple of Win95 boxes.
In addition, have one Ubunutu 6.06 box, and three other 8.04 boxes.
It appears the XP and the 6.06 box lock files so the other cannot edit them
while one has them open, but the 8.04 boxes, running OOo 2.4 can access and edit
and save these files, thus causing havoc.
The linux clients mount via cifs, such as this line from /et...

[LLVMdev] Using llc to compile a .ll into a .s for ARM
...asm a bit, but it still complains about ___mulfp being undefined.
So questions:
Do I have to somehow get LLVM to use the binutils in the NDK?
Do I have to do a full Canadian Cross, and actually host the final thing on
the android?
Oh, I'm currently doing all this on Snow Leopard (but did try Ubunutu), and
have tried both LLVM1.6 and LLVM1.7, and I'm using NDKr4
Thoughts?
Cheers

Rails 1.1 and Ruby 1.8.3
I''ve seen that Rails 1.1 is not reliable with Ruby 1.8.2 so you should
upgrade to 1.8.4
I''m running ruby 1.8.3. What''s the story with it? Do I need to
upgrade before I try Rails 1.1?
Thanks

[LLVMdev] Equivalent setup of llvm-gcc-4.2-2.3 setup of *.dylib in README.LLVM for Ubuntu 8.04
Hi,
I'm trying to setup the llvm-gcc-4.2-2.3 front end which I've built from
source on Ubunutu 8.04.
It has built successfuly. In the README.LLVM file, it says that the
following must be done after the "make install" step:
$ make install
$ ln -sf /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib `pwd`/../install/lib
$ ln -sf /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib `pwd`/../install/lib/libstdc++.dylib
*.dylib file...

[LLVMdev] LLVM 2.3 available as a VMware appliance
Hi!
Would there be any interest in distributing a VMware installation of LLVM
2.3 via llvm.org
I've created a VMware appliance that uses Ubunutu 8.04 and has LLVM2.3
installed. With a VMware appliance, one could start using the LLVM suite
immediately.
All that is need is the appliance and VMware player.
If there is interest in this appliance, I'm willing to do this for each
release.
regards,
Bernardo

KVM/Qemu + libvirt also gave us the ability to do live migrations without having to buy into a
higher level of support on VMware.
On the stack we run Windows Servers/Clients, Linux Servers (CentOS 5,6,7; Arch; Ubunutu).
Virt-Manager allows reasonable graphical tools for management but there's so much you can do with
scripting through virsh and generally with other OS tools (bash, python, etc.).
I've recently dabbled with an old piece of hardware to implement a ZFS on Linux CentOS 7 KVM/Qemu
host. This h...

How do I switch the keyboard layout?
...failed:
* switching the layout in the GNOME panel keyboard layout switcher
* rewriting the xorg.conf for english as standard language
* loading us layout with loadkey on the console
* using env LANG="en_US.UTF-8" as parameter for the launcher
* poking around in winecfg
* googling
System: Ubunutu 8.10 (gnome), Wine 1.1.16
Note: SCIM is normally running for Japanese layout, but I also tried to kill this one and run programs to no avail.
Any ideas how I can persuade wine to use the English layout and ignore the system defaults.
Grateful for any help
