Plotting an adjusted survival curve
First a statistical issue: The survfit routine will produce predicted survival curves for any requested combination of the covariates in the original model. This is not the same thing as an "adjusted" survival curve. Confusion on this is prevalent, however. True adjustment requires a population average over the confounding factors and is closely related to the standardized

Specifying certain tables NOT to be cleared each example?
...ub all the values, except that I use many of these values at class definition time, which means that errors are thrown before I can even mock/stub. For instance, I have a statement like this. named_scope :open, :conditions => ["lead_status_id IN (?)", %w{New Incubating Client UAG}.collect{|x| LeadStatus[x].id}] Which loads the named_scope using the string version of the enumeration for clarity''s sake. It works great, except for testing. Does anybody see anyway around this other than creating a fixture file for each of these tables and loading all the fixtures...

[LLVMdev] Address space extension
...backends won't understand your address space mapping. The backends should expose their address spaces that they support, their sizes and their overall semantics. It should be documented just like the calling convention is documented. It is then the job of the frontend to map whatever source language address spaces are used onto the correct address spaces for the target. For example, the AMDIL backend supports multiple address spaces. If your new language has more than 1 address space, then your frontend has to map them to the backend's address spaces at compile time based on the target tr...

...re the IR would have some target dependences that prevents its usage as is with another target: this is a good point I haven't taken into account. I don't like the idea to "encode" this mapping within the triple known by LLVM: this would be equivalent to make backends ware of language-specific features, like the choices of logical address space mapping done by frontends. My objection is: why if I want to use LLVM as a tool for a "new" language (a "new" frontend) that uses address spaces I should modify also LLVM to add a new triple variant to specify my mapp...

ZFS Usage in Warehousing (lengthy intro)
Dear all, we''re currently looking forward to restructure our hardware environment for our datawarehousing product/suite/solution/whatever. We''re currently running the database side on various SF V440''s attached via dual FC to our SAN backend (EMC DMX3) with UFS. The storage system is (obviously in a SAN) shared between many systems. Performance is mediocre in terms
