Ultime9 works - or wine more win9x compatible than NT :-)
Hi,
When I was about 17 (4 years ago) I dreamed Ultima9 would run on Wine.
No joke - I really dreamed about it. Maybe the many not very
successful tries with WineX made my brain to rebell even when I slept
;)
I thing with WineX 1.1 or 2.0 it worked but:
- 3d sound was broken.
- Colors were mixed up + some other rendering problems
- I had to hack a bit, because it crashed when it attemped to

CentOS 3.9
Hi,
Red Hat started releasing security advisories and update packages that are
part of RHEL3 U9. Still, on RHN there are no RHEL3 U9 ISO images released
yet.
As usual, CentOS will make available CentOS 3.9 when it is deemed ready.
So there is no need to ask when it is going to be released :)
Kind regards,

Moving rpool disks
We need to move the disks comprising our mirrored rpool on a Solaris 10
U9 x86_64 (not SPARC) system.
We''ll be relocating both drives to a different controller in the same
system (should go from c1* to c0*).
We''re curious as to what the best way is to go about this? We''d love
to be able to just relocate the disks and update the system BIOS to...

Problem running zilstat script on a core install server.
We cannot run the zilstat utility (from
http://www.richardelling.com/Home/scripts-and-programs-1/zilstat) on
an Solaris 10 u9 / x86 installed according SUNWCreq (which is a core
install)
while it works fine on a similar config but installed with all
packages (SUNWCXall)
So we know it works in this environment but it seems we miss an
essential package here. That causes the

Unable to allocate dma memory for extra SGL
Hi all;
We have a Solaris 10 U9 x86 instance running on Silicon Mechanics /
SuperMicro hardware.
Occasionally under high load (ZFS scrub for example), the box becomes
non-responsive (it continues to respond to ping but nothing else works
-- not even the local console). Our only solution is to hard reset
after which everything c...

No concrete plan, no. We've been thinking about for quite some time now, but

Best practice for full stystem backup - equivelent of ufsdump/ufsrestore
I''m looking for a way to backup my entire system, the rpool zfs pool to an external HDD so that it can be recovered in full if the internal HDD fails. Previously with Solaris 10 using UFS I would use ufsdump and ufsrestore, which worked so well, I was very confident with it. Now ZFS doesn''t have an exact replacement of this so I need to find a best practice to replace it.

Solaris 10 Samba Configuration
Help, I am having a terrible time configuring Samba on a Solaris 10 server.
Seems like I did this years ago with a Solaris 2.6 server and it was nothing
to configure.
Basically, I have a Solaris 10 U9 server that I'm trying to configure with
one filesystem as a public file share. I am trying to connect to it from a
Windows 2003 R2 server. I can see the server when I connect to \\SERVERNAME
and I can even see the shares. When I attempt to access the shares from the
Windows browser, it tells m...

Tuning disk failure detection?
We recently had a disk fail on one of our whitebox (SuperMicro) ZFS

online increase of zfs after LUN increase ?
...I tried to use it, it did not work. LUN expanded and visible in format, but zpool did not increase.
I found a bug SUNBUG:6430818 (Solaris Does Not Automatically Handle an Increase in LUN Size)
Bad luck.
Patch exists: 148098 but _not_ part of recommended patch set. Thus my fresh install Sol 10 U9 with latest patch set still has the problem. ( Strange that this problem
is not considered high impact ... )
It mentiones a workaround : zpool export, "Re-label the LUN using format(1m) command.", zpool import
Can you pls. help in that, what does that re-label mean ?

problems with the serial port
Hello all,
I know there have been some posts on
this topic before, but I am very new to
this, so I had some trouble decifering
exactly what I have to do to get this working.
I am trying to get a program which accesses
the serial port to receive data from a 3 degree
of freedom tracking device to work under
linux. The GUI loads just fine, but then I get
an error from the program (not WINE) that
