asterisk@home basic
Apologies for asking something that must have been asked many times. I'm
running *@home v0.4 and can't get the * time to be local GMT. Tried
tzselect etc etc and added ntp server addresses to ntp.conf, * still uses
system time of EST so call logs are 5 hours behind.
Also, e-mail notifications of vm don't appear to be getting sent, I've set
voicemail.conf to include a valid e-mail address but I never receive it.
Any pointers to subjec...

also, you can use tzselect to make sure the correct timezone is used.

Tip: using icecast in chroot mode may break timestamp in access.log
...'re running Icecast in a chroot jail the timestamps in the access.log file will almost certainly be in UTC times. If you want local timezone timestamps you need to make sure the file /etc/localtime is in <chrootdir>/etc/localtime.
If you use a different timezone settings (generated using tzselect for example). You may need to copy the appropriate files from /usr/share/zoneinfo to your chroot basedir.
Just thought I'd share this with you folk, since it took me about an hour to figure it out.

Timezone issues with migrations between host kernel 3.10 and 3.18
Hi All,
I'm seeing clock issues with live migrations on the latest kernel packages, migrating a VM from 3.10.68-11 to 3.18.17-13 results in the VM clock being off by 7 hours (I'm PST, so appears to be a timezone issue). This is also between xen versions, but rolling the target back to 3.10 resolved so don't believe the recent XSA's are related.
Anyone else seen behavior

time on asterisk
Hi,
I'm using gotoiftime on asterisk, but it seems there is a difference between the asterisk time and the system time. could it be because i adjusted the system timezone on my linux? do asterisk not detect the change of timezone on the system? How can I fix this prob?
Regards,
nhadie

Hai Ian,
Can you run this one again on both servers and pm me both outputs.
I'll have a good look.
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/thctlo/samba4/master/samba-collect-debug-info.sh
I've updated the file, so do use the new one.

Things not mentions are the same in setup, so now you need to fix these difference.
1)
time setup, run: tzselect and make sure these are the same.
1a) setup ntp, multiple options here.
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Time_Synchronisation
Choose options 2 or 3 for the members.
setup, reboot, check again.
2)
primary the netbios hostnames, make sure these are resolvable and max 15 Chars.
And, netbios...

How to install programs in wine?
I am a rank newbie to Linux and wine.
I am running Ubuntu Dapper on an AMD 1800 mhz machine, wine 0.9.15
Everything I have read says use the installer to load windows programs.
Where is the installer?
Thanks,
