Promise TX2 and ATARAID....... kjouirnald and kupdated seem to fight it out for reasourses
What is really puzzling me is that the ataraid device (/dev/ataraid/d0p1 mounted as /bigdisk)
2x 123GB IBM Deskstar's is formated as ext2...top and ps etc... show a fight between kjournald and kupdated
and all searches for kjournald or kupdated fights suggest ext3 issues... :-)

Re: Shielding of T1/E1 cables WAS RE: PinoutsforT1/E1 crossover
...differential signal components
then you're right about the wiring. In either case you're wrong with
respect to the pairing. :-)
Sorry, I am used to the way NEC documents their PBXs and this is what
they call it. The Zytrax website documents it like this:
Pin: Signal:
1 Rx1
2 Rx2
4 Tx1
5 Tx2
(http://www.zytrax.com/tech/layer_1/cables/tech_rs232.htm - bottom of
page)
So my question about a "real" T1 cable isn't specifically about a
crossover cable, although the principle will still apply. I was talking
about using Cat5/5e 4-pair cable (*not* a pre-made Ethernet patch cab...

Can't boot from ad4: Device Not Configured?
I'm trying to move my drives from
the slow built-in IDE controller to
a faster PCI card (Promise ULTRA TX2).
The boot loader succesfully loads the
kernel, and the kernel succesfully probes
the Promise controller and the hard
disk connected to it.
But the root mount fails with error 6,
even after I type in "ufs:/dev/ad4s1a"
I looked through the kernel config files
and LINT and could find noth...

how to add frequencies to barplot
Hi,
I have count data
x2=rep(c(0:3),c(13,80,60,27))
x2
0 1 2 3
13 80 60 27
I want to graph to be ploted as
barplot(table(x2),density=4)
how do I add relative frequency to it, like in
hist(x2,labels=T)
above the 'bar's
Thanks.

Symbolic substitution of expressions into expressions
In the following
titletxt <- substitute(paste(tx, tilde(y) == sqrt(y)),
list(tx="Replace y by "))
I'd like to be able to replace e.g. sqrt(y) by a symbol or
symbolic expression that has the effect of inserting sqrt(y)
into the place that it occupies. This would allow me to put an
arbitrary expression into that position. [One can use text() or
mtext() etc. to place titletxt

Systemfit (was RE: How to force two regression coefficients to be equal but opposite in sign?)
Thank you, Greg, and also to Scott Ellison, who replied privately. I am
in the process of trying out both suggestions.
After I sent my initial message, I came across the Systemfit package,
which allows specification of constraints on parameters. In theory,
this should solve my problem perfectly. However, I was not able to get
it to work with my data, as every attempt yielded the following

GeForce(R) GT 710 1GB PCIE x 1 on arm64
Hi to all.
I'm experimenting with running a
https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/geforce%C2%AE-gt-710-1gb-pcie-x-1
card on an Nvidia Jetson TX2 arm64 device.
Possible?
Linux kernel aarch64 5.6.10.
Because Nvidia did not list drivers for this architecture, I'm
experimenting with a nouveau driver.
The Jetson TX2 has a default driver for the host1x framebuffer for output
from the board via HDMI.
I changed the video kernel parameter to nou...

Promise Ultra133TX2?
Has anyone made the Promise Ultra133TX2 2-port PCI<->IDE card work with

I''ve seen some references to the Ultra100TX2, but it doesn''t seem to
refer to the version that I''m using.

SATA controller compatibility
Greetings - I'm looking to put some cheap storage into my server, which
is running centos 3. I'm looking at the Maxtor SATA/150 PCI Card and a
big maxtor sata drive. I would like to make sure that CentOS has
driver for this controller. I looked in Red Hat's hardware database
and did some google'ing but I couldn't find any info to confirm that
this card is compatible.

How to test frequency independence (in a 2 by 2 table) with many missing values
Hello dear R help group.
My question is statistical and not R specific, yet I hope some of you might
be willing to help.
*Experiment settings*: We have a list of subjects. each of them went
through two tests with the answer to each can be either 0 or 1.
*Goal*: We want to know if the two experiments yielded different results in
the subjects answers.

and the covariate is continuous. Treatments "1" and "2" both have
regression coefficients significantly different from 0 when using
treatment contrasts with treatment "0" as the

Promise raid cards
...HEL
?
I have seen that only SATA is supported on the RHEL hardware compatibility
list. The other ATA raid cards seems not to be compatible. They give source
code and promise grants compatibility with RedHat 8 and 9 but not RHEL.
I would like to know if somebody tried a ATA raid card like Fasttrack
TX2000, SX4000, Fasttrack 100 TX2, etc..
If you could share me your experience it would be great.
My provider says that he had some bad experiences about that cards and he
doesn't allow me to use CentOS on his promise cards he provides (only), so I
cannot have RAID on my server... it's a shame...
