Bounty offer
...or our users. The quality is awesome but setting up the program is a pain for our users and we'd like to improve that for our users and for Mumble users in general. The main issue our users have is with voice detection. Speaking with Mumble's community they informed me Now, one of the most twitchy aspects of the audio tuning is voice activity detection for voice-activated transmission. For this we're relying on speex, and fixing speex' VAD has been a long-overdue issue. If you want to offer a bounty for that, it would probably be better directed at the Speex forums though. A good, lo...

Looking for a client to feed Icecast
Would like to use a Windows client with a line-in processor to feed an icecast server. Have tried Winamp, but could not get the plugin recommended in this forum to work. Looked at the Sonique site, and could not find plugins that would do line-in and server out. Any recommendataions? Better way of streaming radio than "musiconhold" for Asterisk 17.4 ?
Thanks Dan - might have to scratch my head over that one for a while! The phrase "you make your own RTP server" has made me all twitchy ;) Jonathan On Wed, 6 May 2020 at 07:21, Dan Jenkins <dan at nimblea.pe> wrote: > Hi Jonathan, > > I'd probably go down the external media route in the ARI now - you make > your own RTP server and provide your own RTP back to asterisk > > On Sun, 3 May 2020, 13:07 Jon...

Dropping Root
...uses the daemons gem for this purpose, for those who haven''t looked at the gem. This works and I can copy the wiki script to /etc/init.d/ and add the appropriate runlevel symlinks with update-rc.d. Which all works great. Except that I end with the process running as root. Which makes me twitchy and nervous. So I''d to like to make it step down like a good little process to a much less privileged user. I can''t do this in the /etc/init.d/ script, as it then can''t write the pid file (and probably other things). But putting it in the setup post amble doesn''...

Looking for a client to feed Icecast
Todd -- I was actually able to get this working with the WinAmp plugin, Oddsock (www.oddsock.org) last night. The configuration is a little twitchy, but worked well for my purpose. Email me directly if you need help. Roy At 09:17 PM 03/02/02 -0500, you wrote: >Would like to use a Windows client with a line-in processor to >feed an icecast server. URGENT: REDHAT 6.1 STORES SAMBA PRIVATE FILES IN /etc
dear redhat, i examined a friend's system today, to help him configure it. assuming that he just "installed" from scratch the samba package, it appears that you have provided a default smb.conf file for redhat 6.1 that puts samba private configuration files in /etc. the suggested options, for example show "smbpasswd file = /etc/smbpasswd". this is REALLY bad. 1) you

Better way of streaming radio than "musiconhold" for Asterisk 17.4 ?
Way back in 2016 the only way to allow callers to listen in to a stream "at will" was to do the following: moh.conf [radio] mode=custom application=/usr/bin/mplayer https://example.com/stream.mp3 -quiet -ao pcm:file=/dev/stdout -af volume=5,resample=8000,channels=1,format=alaw extensions.conf exten => radio,1,Verbose(1, Entered radio context) same => n,Set(VOLUME(TX)=1)

[DOC] Update item on FAQ
It''s not quite clear how to go about this so hopefully whoever maintains the FAQ is on this list. As part of closing bug #156, it would be nice to add a sentence on item 4.8 (The initrd that came with my distro does not...) to include the following sentences: "Some distros (notably SLES9) have a mkinitrd that adds garbage to the end of the initrd. These initrds will not work

Testing modules
...art extending a module to support more distributions and OSes, while trying to keep the existing support working. That''s even before you start thinking about functions, facts, and native types. They''re *really* in need of solid testing, being all native Ruby. I''m a bit twitchy about widely distributing my modules without solid testing, and certainly I can''t accept non-trivial patches for them without some semblance of testing (breaking production manifests would be... ill-advised). Then there''s testing that everything still works with newer versions of...

Is this typical memory usage?
I have xen 3.04 running on SLES10SP1. It''s working great, but I''m wondering if I have some memory issues with dom0. I have 7 domU''s, 1 is win2k, the other 6 are win2k3. I''ve had a lot of machines up and down with a reboot of dom0 in quite a while. I''m wondering if dom0 has not given up memory during the process. I added 5 win2k3 domU''s today.

Configuring source-specific routing
I'm attempting to configure source-specific routing so that my servers can exist on multiple subnets from multiple upstream providers. A rough diagram of the network layout: ISP1 router (blackbox, routes subnet A, address on subnet A) \ -----------eth0(firewall)eth1---((servers)) / ISP2 router (blackbox, routes subnet B, address on subnet B) The aim is to allow the servers to use

Centos and Bridging
Hello, Presently I am running CentOS release 5.5 (Final). I am looking to setup bridging as I would like to setup some KVM virtual hosts on my system as a test lab. I am following the the instruction at this site > http://tldp.org/HOWTO/BRIDGE-STP-HOWTO/index.html but I cannot figure out where I am going wrong and would be thankful if someone could point me in the right direction. Does ZFS work with SAN-attached devices?
Hi All, Its been a while since I touched zfs. Is the below still the case with zfs and hardware raid array? Do we still need to provide two luns from the hardware raid then zfs mirror those two luns? http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/zfs/faq/#hardwareraid Thanks, Shawn -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
