...ownloaded and
compiled 2.4.13 to my liking and have made smbfs asa module. I am
attempting to mount an smb share from my linux file server [running RH 7.1
with 2.2.18 and smbfs as a module as well].
Details:
daffy - RH 7.1 - samba works fine - can be mounted from other clients
[Win2k,win98,winNT]
tweetie - RH 7.2 - can be mounted from all other clients.
The smbfs modules is loaded without errors on both machines. The smbfs
module is from their respective running kernels.
daffy can mount any share on tweetie using the following command:

smbclient can't find this new XP
I upgraded to 2.2.2 on Solaris 7, and changed the regestry
requiressignorseal to 0. Although this new XP is able to do the samba
mounts I need, I'd like to be able to back it to UNIX tapes with
smbclient, but all I get is :
/usr/local/samba/bin/smbclient -L //paulxp
added interface ip=161.217.10.13 bcast=161.217.10.255

Samba 2.2.8 under OpenBSD 3.3
Hi, I'm dropping a little question.
I've set up a samba server and homes and public shares.
Everything works almost fine.
The only thing that bothers me is about files and directory masks.
In ssh session, I got files with 0700(-rwx------) mask and dirs with
0755(drwxr-xr-x) mask.
As I see, there are many mask options in smb.conf so I'm not really sure
wich would best fit with my needs

CUPs and Samba and XP
Hullo All.
The preamble.... Samba 2.2.7a compiled against CUPS, CUPs v 1.1.6 (version
that came with Mandrake 9.0), using client side drivers (raw printing) on
XP.
Printing works, cancelling jobs via the web interface works after the
spooling is done. What doesn't work. Pausing jobs (though that's not as
important as the next trouble) and cancelling jobs from XP. If I cancel a
job by

Is there another way of doing the bindings so that the Windows share doesn't run on TCP/IP but will still work with SAMBA? If so, where in the docs should I be looking, and if not - maybe this should be something discussed by the SAMBA dev people..
Regards,
Marc.
