Dear anybody dealing with TCLTK on R I'm trying, without any success, to get a simple TCLTK window to remain floating on top of the RGui and RConsol windows when the later have focus. I cannot find reference in the TCKTK documentation and fear that I'm missing something quite fundamental. My objective is to make a simple button populated menu to invoke R functions. ...I have 1 problem, I want to setup my windows xp pro sp2 users to have roaming + folder redirection to my samba server. Some folders are very easy to move to be in a redirect or roaming environment like: My Documents My Pictures Favorites My Music Start Up To make this possible, I use tweakUI from windows site, is a easy tool. The main problem I have is that, some folders: Application Data and Local Settings, wont let me redirect them to each user profile share. TweakUI doesn't show this folders. ...tried the "hide"option, but the user can simply change Windows Explorer setting to view hidden files. It was suggested we consider poledit, but the option to hide drives is "all or nothing", meaning we'd have to hide C drive too (which we don't want). I looked into TweakUI, but the changes are only temporary and reset to original setting after restarting Windows 95. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

...PDC and it's own "domain". We use /etc/passwd for authentication. At login, if a valid accountname, password, and domain are entered, everything's just peachy. And yes, we've used poledit to require validation by network for windows access. However. We've been using Tweakui to clear the last user's login name, to minimize user confusion in our public labs. The unfortunate side effect of this is that now it is possible to enter any accountname/ password pair *and a bogus domain name*, and get access to the computer and the network. This is exactly the opposite...

Is it possible to set things up in SAMBA so that a Win98 box that hasn't been logged into can access a share? I have a small home network that is shielded from the Internet and would like to have a public directory that can easily be accessed for my wife and daughter. Thanks, Craig

Hello everyone, I am having a problem I can't find an answer to. Background: We had a RH 7.3/8.0 box with samba 2.2.7. Workstations were Windows 2000. We have 5 roaming users with laptops. when the roaming users would go home, they were able to log into the laptops without the presence of the domain (an yes, they were logging into the domain user at home).
