colors to pie chart.
hello, all.
i am trying something new and am stuck. i typically go with whatever colors the pie function pops out, but i would like to customize it.
please find below a sample dataset.

R-beta: a bug in the lm function ?
...the need for power transformation. This function
works fine using the version 0.50 of R, but gives an error message
with version 0.60.
The lm function in version 0.60 is different from that in version 0.50.
Is there a bug in the new lm function?

Problem applying McNemar's - Different values in SPSS and R
...#39;s test in R and SPSS. Which one should i
rely on when the p values differ.
I came across this problem when i started learning R and seriously give up
on SPSS or any other proprietary software.

MS Excel/NT/Samba timestamp - serious problem, bug?
A rather distressing timestamp issue (to multiple users here). Anyone
seen similar behavior or have a suggestion/solution?
Problem:
Opening and closing an excel file (no changes/keystrokes to file) on
the Samba server causes the file to be saved with time stamp of
closing. (There is no autosave set on Excel - also see other info below)

Samba 2.0.6, MKS' touch.exe, and file/dir time stamps
Hello all,
we are experiencing problems with samba 2.0.6 and the MKS touch command.
during our builds, we touch files and directories so that our make
dependencies work correctly. Unfortunately, it seems that MKS' touch.exe
doesn't actually change the time stamp of a file or directory. The
command returns without an error, but the timestamp does not change.

[PATCH 5/6] drm: Delete "mandatory" stereographic modes
...just the frame-packing modes that
aren't working, but all the side-by-side and top-and-bottom modes from
the "mandatory" list work. At this point, I'm more inclined to believe
that there's an issue in the nouveau implementation for frame-packed
modes. But it could still be the TVs themselves that don't support
that at all.

Date/time bug in 2.0.5a?
Is this just me????
Just installed 2.0.5a for testing.
Copying files (using explorer) from NT to Samba-2.0.5a (Solaris2.6
*and* Irix6.5)
fails to copy the date/time stamp correctly (1.9.18p7 is fine, from the
same NT system).
24/06/1999 11:59 (on NT) => 25/06/1999 17:14 (Samba)
25/06/1999 17:00 (on NT) => 25/06/1999 17:09 (Samba)

If Alastair has an intel GPU as well, an "easy" way to check if the
frame packing modes of those TVs work would be to use the testdisplay[1]
tool of intel-gpu-tools.

samba-2.0.7pre2 and file timestamps

I actually prefer THIS incorrect behavior over the behavior I've seen after
this bug is "fixed". The bugfix posted by Paul Eggert for 2.0.6 (and the
one from H.-P. Ermert before that), changed a line in smbd/trans2.c which is
handling SMB_SET_FILE_BASIC_INFO from tvs.modtime=MIN(...) to
tvs.modtime=MAX(...) - this is line 1717 in the 2.0.7pre2 version of
smbd/trans2.c. Interestingly, 2.0.7pre2 has the bugfix from Paul Eggert
incorporated, but with MAX flipped back to MIN.
I don't think either MIN or MAX is completely correct here. This code

In this particular case, burn-in will most certainly occur. TiVo is connected
to televisions, and big screen TVs are very susceptible to burn in because of
how hard the CRTs are driven to produce a large picture. There are tons of
horror stories on the 'net about it from people who left them on news channels
for days after 9/11, or watched 4:3 material unstretched on a 16:9 screen for
long periods of...

Using two subnets to change network configuration
...e solution: Change the network from 192.168.1.0/24 to 172.24.24.0/22. This is somewhere in the middle of the less frequently used RFC-1918 20 bit private network range. My
network contains 40 or so nodes, windows, linux, and proprietary operating systems of various types (TiVos, iPhones, iPads, TVs, BluRay players, WAP's, etc.)
What I would like to do to minimize down time would be to create a single new machine on the network with addresses on both networks and set up as a router between the networks.
That way, I can convert the machines one at a time, and not loose any connectivity....
