What is mclust up to? Different clusters found if x and y interchanged
Hello All... I gave a task to my students that involved using mclust to look for clusters in some bivariate data of isotopes vs various mining locations. They discovered something I didn?t expect; the data (called tur) is appended below. p <- qplot(x = dD, y = dCu65, data = tur, color = mine) print(p) # simple bivariate plot of the data; looks fine mod1 <- Mclust(tur[,2:3]) mod1$G mod2

I am trying to use rsync to synchronize files generated in one directory with our public directory our web server. We have a number of files with the extension html so I have tried the following command line: rsync *.html

Turnpoints (pastecs): How to specify a limit on the number of tur npoints?
Hello, I'm trying to get a few turnpoints for a financial time series. There is a function in pastecs that does that. However, I get a large number of turnpoints: library(pastecs) data(EuStockMarkets) dax <-EuStockMarkets[,1] plot(dax) turnp <-turnpoints(dax) summary(turnp) #gives 925 peaks/pits!!! How can specify to get only 30 turnpoints? Second question: the extract function

SUMMARY : multipath using defaults rather than multipath.conf contents for some devices (?) - why ?
The reason for the behaviour observed below turned out to be that the device entry in /etc/multipath.conf was inadvertently appended *after* the devices section , rather than inside it - so that we had #devices { # device { # blah blah # } (file has a bunch of defaults commented out) # etc #} # # device { our settings } *rather than*

Hi, I created an HVM type virtual machine and installed RHEL5U7 guest in it. I have assigned 7 scsi disks to the virtual machine in physical mode (using phy:), however, I see those disks are xvd and not as scsi. Is anyone aware what the problem might be ? Please let me know what kind of information do I need to post in order to narrow down to the problem. Thanks, K
