Shorewall openvpn support
Hi, We''re using openvpn on our firewall box to contact several networks. The idea is to use it for approx 10-15 vpn''s.. But.. Do we have to define a tunX device and an interface + zone for ''each'' VPN connection? It seems to me yes, but .. Doesn''t that make the interfaces/zones file a little bit complex or overpopulated? Just wondering because in my previous experiences I''ve never had to use more then 4 zones.....

iptables mark + openvpn will the mark survive ?
...p bandwidth restrictions for a few clients that use openvpn to connect to my server. I''m using iptables to mark the packets in the mangle table (PRE/POSTROUTING) on eth0 before they get sent via the tunnel. Will the mark survive even if the packets then get routed via an openvpn tunnel (tunX) out the box or does openvpn change it removing the mark ? damnit, just as I think I''m starting to understand this stuff, I get confused all over. tx. e. _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list / LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl http://mailman.ds9a.nl/mailman/listinfo...

...nections, the loopback interface (lo) and two virtual interfaces for the VPN link (tun0 and tun1). They all accept all kind of traffic, both incoming and outgoing, as there are NO firewall filtering rules on them (yet) except for masquerading of outgoing connections to the Internet. * On the tunX interfaces the gateways have 10.0.0.X IP addresses, which are the VPN links. * Each of the LANs has a WORKGROUP style Windows network, which has mixed Win98 and XP clients. All the LANs has configured the same workgroup name. * On each LAN there is a wireless access point which only ocasio...

rsync output and log FORMAT escapes
Hi, I?m currently evaluating the new possibilities of rsync 3.1.0 with regards to customizing the output / log format. Unfortunately I couldn?t find a complete list of FORMAT escapes. Could someone point me to it? More specific, I would like to include the statistics of the --stats parameter only in the log file and not in the stdout. How can I achieve this with --out-format and

Tinc on PFSENSE box can join mesh, share keys, connect out, but doesn't reply to pings or connections
I've tried IRC in #tinc and #pfsense on freenode for this, not luck yet, figured I'd try the mailing list. A summary of my problem is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PFSENSE/comments/789xus/tinc_vpn_can_do_everything_but_be_accessed/ If there are any details I can provide that would help I'll be more than happy to. I'm hoping it will be something obvious that someone can say

You should not need to have two tinc daemons just because you have a WAN and a LAN interface. By default (ie, if you don't specify BindToAddress and/or BindToInterface), tinc listens on all interfaces,

NetworkManager and tinc
tinc has been really useful for us, and so the other day I blogged about tinc as a way of saying thank-you, http://blogs.operationaldynamics.com/andrew/software/research/using-tinc-vpn.html Somewhat innocuously, I closed with reference to NetworkManager; having used it with openvpn and been very impressed with the experience (not the openvpn part, but the fact that GNOME's networking UI made

VPN Single Daemon For LAN/WAN
...P on eth0, a Private IP on eth1, and then a TINC VPN LAN IP on 10.0.1.x and a TINC VPN WAN on 10.1.x.x. I would love to understand how to make the next jump and get a single TINCD to keep all of this working. I think the key is the ifconfig and ip commands issued in tinc-up that allow for another tunx interface to be created and given a WAN VPN ip address The TINC VPN LAN address was assigned in tinc-up: ifconfig $INTERFACE 10.0.1.11 netmask 255.255.255.0 md On 12/15/2014 5:12 PM, md at rpzdesign.com wrote: > Guus: > > Ok, I accept your challenge. > > But I am clueless in...

[net-next RFC PATCH 0/7] multiqueue support for tun/tap
As multi-queue nics were commonly used for high-end servers, current single queue based tap can not satisfy the requirement of scaling guest network performance as the numbers of vcpus increase. So the following series implements multiple queue support in tun/tap. In order to take advantages of this, a multi-queue capable driver and qemu were also needed. I just rebase the latest version of
