virsh migrate --copy-storage-inc
Hello, I use libvirt on machines without shared storage. My VM's have all one qcow2-disk, with the same name as the VM. When I want to migrate a VM, I check if there is an qcow2 image on the other host with that name. When that's not the case, I copy the image using rsync first. If the image excist, I don't do that, and I think that "--copy-storage-inc" will do it. But I

If used with --tunelled you can only use it if you wish to migrate ALL disks in such a VM and need to pre-create the correct files. If you wish to migrate only certain disks you need to stop using --tunelled. > Is there documentation what is done during migration? Is it using rsync? Normally (if --tunneled is not us...

Degraded performance when using GRE over tinc
Hi, In a setup where OpenVSwitch is used with GRE tunels on top of an interface provided by tinc, I'm experiencing significant performance degradation problems (from 100Mb/s down to 1Mb/s in the worst case) and I'm not sure how to fix this. The manifestation of the problem is, from the user point of view, iperf reports ~100Mb/s and rsync reports ~1Mb/s: $ iperf -c 91.224.149.132

Letting linux be the router, allowing dynamic routes, suggestion
What challenge this would solve ? VPN software in general tries to be another router when running in server mode with multiple clients. This restricts VPN customers from having complex topology. For instance, I'd like to have two tunnels between each client network and each server (with two broadband connections on each end), with some OSPF running and automatically switching from one to

What does the socks function of openssh hide?
Salutations, I was recently using openssh 6.8p1-3 for socks tunelling with a public wifi hotspot. I attempted to watch youtube but was notified that it was not allowed in my area. The socks server I was connected to definitely had the ability to connect to youtube, so I concluded the issue was with the public wifi hotspot. How much does socks tunneling with openssh obscure? Command : ssh -ND

MTU issue when using GRE over tinc
[Disclaimer : I'm not a network engineer] Hi, In a setup where OpenVSwitch is used with GRE tunels on top of an interface provided by tinc, I'm experiencing MTU problems and I'm not sure how to fix them. The manifestation of the problem is, from the user point of view, communication hang. And using "tcpdump -i there" displays lines such as : 18:54:00.345666 IP

The migration of storage using the qemu migration stream is not supported by qemu when -blockdev is used. Since we can only transport one stream when migrating with '-tunelled', it's no longer possible to combine those two. Squid updates break tunneling
This is a question I posted to the RHEL3 mailing list but didn't get a response: "We are currently running squid-2.5.STABLE3-6.3E.9 on one of our RHEL3 proxy servers because updating to the latest (squid-2.5.STABLE3-6.3E.14) seems to break any kind of tunelling, ie. things like instant messaging ports and ssh using proxytunnel (http://proxytunnel.sourceforge.net/). Has anyone else

ADSL with PPP failover
Hi - I''ve been looking around for simple answers to this for a while now, but haven''t been able to find any HOW-TO type documentation. I am administering a site with a remote location connected primarily via a cipe tunnel over a SHDSL connection. We also have a direct PSTN connection between the sites. Seeing as phone calls here are not timed I plan to keep the PSTN connection
