ldap attribute modifiers. how to lowercase non ASCII
hi all,
I encountered some problem with lowercasing chars like an "?"
with user_attrs like this:
user_attrs = uid=home=/mail/%Lu, =myvar=%L{ldap:uid}
the ? doesnt get lower cased in both cases
# doveadm user BL?TULA
field value
user bl?tula
uid vmail
gid vmail
home /mail/bl?tula
mail maildir:~/Maildir:LAYOUT=fs:INBOX=~/Maildir/INBOX
myvar bl?tula
somebody knows if there a fix for that?

Does tdb can store incorrect encoding symbols?
Hello, All!
I found that Samba checks description fields encoding at various tdb files to late.
Case 1.
FreeBSD with UTF-8 support. At some cases FreeBSD's adduser script can save incorrect UTF-8 sequence to GECOS /etc/passwd field. (Here is example http://www.acc.tula.ru/~acc107_3/samba/miscoding/gecos.txt)
When user is added to Samba, Samba reads GECOS field "as is" without check in.
Later it will lead to "Conversion error: Illegal multibyte sequence".

smbd/uid.c:change_to_root_user(275)
I have Samba 3.0.23d. My log level is 5.
Every day in each user's log I see this records:
[2006/12/18 16:39:39, 5] smbd/uid.c:change_to_root_user(275)
change_to_root_user: now uid=(0,0) gid=(0,0)
what does it mean?

Hello!
I found at my "smbd.log" many record, like this:

Didn't get file descriptor 0
What this means?

Impossible to change Primary group
I have Samba PDC and use tdbsam backend. I use the version 3.0.11, but
recently I have exchanged it for the version 3.0.23c. Now I have a
number of problem. Here is one of then.
I wish to move one user "gad" from Domain Users (RID 513) to Domain
Guests (RID 514).
Now Primary group of user "gad" is "Domain Users":
pdbedit -Lv gad -d0
Unix username: gad
