Multivariable model
Hello r-list members,
I've been doing some linear modeling with a dataset structured as follows.
Tubes containing 500 larvae of Trichinella each were treated with one of
four different temperatures. Each day (or every 10 days depending on
treatment group), 3 tubes were selected from each treatment and all the dead
larvae were counted. The tubes were discarded. Final larvae counts were

Growth rate determination using ANCOVA
I'm a programmer in a biology lab who is starting to use R to automate
some of our statistical analysis of growth rate determination. But I'm
running into some problems as I re-code.
1) Hypotheses concerning Slope similarity/difference:
I'm using R's anova(lm()) methods to analyse a model which looks
like this:
growth.metric ~ time * test.tube

Sipura support down the tubes
I had a problem in the past with a SPA-3000 acting funny that Sipura
helped me with by telling me how to factory reset it. They responded in
less than a day to my email request and the unit has worked fine since.
I've had similar turn around on requests related to a batch of SPA-841
phones. They were all handled by real people who appeared very
knowledgeable on the products. This appears

Trouble with gridBase and inset plots
Dear All,
I ma having a trouble in generating a figure containing 3 insets with
the gridBase package.
I always get an error message of the kind:
Error in gridPLT() : Figure region too small and/or viewport too large
No matter which parameters I choose. The plots works nicely with two
insets only, but when I try adding the third one, my troubles begin.
I am probably doing something wrong in the

TentSteak 0.2.0
The second release of TentSteak is out and available as a gem on
rubyforge ("gem install tent_steak"). This version introduces a
handful of new form helpers, a couple method renames, editable HTML
tables, and some application bootstrappers for kickstarting Camping
and initializing ActiveRecord.
It''s still in active development, and I''d very much appreciate

Topological network Map
Hello I'd like to create a simple topological map of a river system, ie all
the waterways, where they join and points on them such as gauging stations
so that it looks something like the London Tube map - where distances are
not important but the relationships of the nodes are.
I could probably Heath-Robinson something together but I wondered whether
there was any kind of package already out

joining two points in rgl
Hi!!
I need to draw a cylinder/tube joining two points. I am trying to make something presentable, I have been able to do it using lines3d. But is it possible to
increase the thickness of the lines? The size parameter does not work. Does any one have any suggestions?
Thanks ../Murli

Centos convert to rhel?
Hate to ask, but after reading the last few months of centos history online
I am worried.
And to learn the lead guy seems to have absconded with the cash and left all
the hard working devs high and dry..well that is scary.
They all worked so hard and who knows what will happen now.
If centos falls I have no choice but to go to redhat. I am wondering if the
conversion will be easy or a complete
