Vinculate tty1 or tty7 to domU
Hi.
Im looking how to vinculate directly the dom0 tty1 or tty7 to my domU.
The idea is provide to the sysadmin a "direct Access" to the domU.
Is possible do that?
Thanks in advance

domU consoles
Hi
I have a couple of questions:
1. How do I exist from a domU console back to dom0 console (after
issuing xm console [domU])?
2. How do I setup a dom0/domU in order to get a tty login?
TIA
Paolo

X Abort after run level 3->5 transition and multiple logins are tried?
Through many years and through CentOS-6.5, I would boot to runlevel 3,
do various admin stuff on my desktop and then telinit 5, which started
an X session on tty7. I would then do logout->switch user a few times to
get additional user IDs active. Many years ago I would accomplish this
with some kind of "startx ... :1', or ':2' etc. thingy, but I've
forgotten the details now.
For some reason 6.6 update makes it start on tty1. The wisd...

ISTR an alt-backspace to restart X (been a _long_ time)? Of course with
the apparent conflicts in underlying script/config (tries to spawn
gettys on tty1-6 expecting X to start on tty7 but X starts on tty1) I
don't know if this would work any better.
My work around is a dummy user logged in on the first session (tty1) and
use System->Log-out->Switch User from the panel to run real users on
second and subsequent sessions for other users (all me). The subsequent
sessions...

Opensuse 10.3 does not charge dom0
I decided to upgrade from openSuse 10.2 to openSuse 10.3. I installed xen things, but when I boot using xen option the system is blocked. It appears the green window, with little suse logo in the middle, and mouse cursor, but the system crashes.
My computer is a Pentium 4 1,5 GHz, 512 MB of RAM.
I attached "diff boot.msg boot.omsg" (as diff opensuse-normal-kernel opensuse-xen-kernel)

[Bug 87830] New: I got bright noise screen (static) like on TV after boot.

log_buf_len=1M && dmesg > kernel_log_xxx.txt
I can switch to all tty* and somehow except tty7 (where I get that noise
screen) In tty1 it looks like resolution is about 1280x1024 (native res. for my
LCD).
On tty7 I have gnome. Can't do anything there. Screen doesn't change at all.
I have NVidia GTX550Ti.

Question on best way of configuring this
...both as virtual instances on a new
machine (quad core duo) I've ordered. What I would really like to have
is something like the dom0 being on tty0, map the Linux domU consoles
to tty1->5, allow the Linux domU X server to run fullscreen on tty6,
and have the windows GUI appear fullscreen on tty7.
I really don't want to remotely access the windows GUI (it makes video
editting harder, and game playing almost impossible), and would want to
avoid displaying it inside another X session. Ideally it'd feel like a
"real" machine.
Does this sound like a feasible option?

Framebuffer double buffering (via FBIOPAN_DISPLAY)
..._DISPLAY to work.?
It is now giving me an invalid argument error.? I have set vinfo.xoffset
and vinfo.yoffset to 0 earlier in my program to try to eliminate them as
variables.
Other factors that may be at play:
-I am trying to run this from an alternate TTY.? I have a graphical
environment on TTY7 with x.org.? I think it is using the DRM interface.?
Maybe there is a conflict.
-Maybe I am missing a driver in my Gentoo kernel config?? I'm still
learning about it, but going into my workstation's kernel config, I
noticed that CONFIG_FB_NVIDIA was set to "n".
Do you know whe...

xen 3.3.0 etch sources console hangs
I installed xen 3.3.0 on a etch box from sources. I just modified the
standard kernel cause of some hardware drivers. I installed xen-tools
from backports (3.9-3~bpo40+1). To create a domU ist not the problem. I
can connect via ssh and everything works fine. But when i start a domU
with "xm create host.example.tld.cfg -c" to login to console from domU
it hangs after the message

Kerberos ticket maximum renewable lifetime
...Where did you get the idea that you need the password from ?
If a user logs in and PAM is set up correctly on a Unix domain member,
the user should get a kerberos ticket.
But as I said, you do not actually need a password, you need a keytab,
to prove this:
rowland at devstation:~$ who
rowland? tty7???????? 2020-06-29 11:02 (:0)
I am the only user logged in.
I use sudo from AD (and I do not use sssd) and for this you need the
Administrators ticket (I have asked about this on the sudo-users mailing
list, the users ticket should be enough). To keep the Administrators
ticket valid, I run a c...
