Group logon Scripts
We're almost at the stage of rolling out our new RH6.1/Samba server -
one last item. We have some 60 users and 7 departments. Can I use/how
do I use a logon script to log groups onto the server. I currently have
1 logon script per user, but a small change in 1 share means updating
every script. Can I log them on by group ID but still map
their personal shares with the %U flag so I then

help with making a function of scatter plot with multiple variables
...ew variables, I dont have to copy the code and then change the old variables with the new ones but just call a function with the new variables. I dont have any experience in making a function and would be very grateful if you can help me. A function will shorten my prog dramatically, since I repeat tthis type of graph alots in my analysis.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

What are the differences between systemd and non-systemd Linux distros?
Systemd is implemented in all the major distros, if you want to find ones that don't search for non-systemd.

Tools/mechanisms for the management of access permissions in big filebased datasets
Hello,
we are currently managing access permissions through classical
user-group-others permissions on a multi-petabyte directory tree with
partially very deep and broad directories. Projects are represented by
directory trees and mapped through GIDs. Lately we had lots of
"singular" permission request (one single user needs access to a single
dataset but should not be able to

Running a command at startup
On a support forum, I was told that to turn off my board's blue led run:
echo none | sudo tee /sys/class/leds/blue\:heartbeat/trigger
Well, this does not survive a system reboot.? So I was told:
Add the off bit to
??? /etc/rc.local
Add it above "exit 0"
So of course, CentOS is past using rc.local and recommends:

redirect with application add
There are groups within our app that people can be invited too. If a user
recieves an invite to a group and hasn''t yet added the application the
filter chain ends up redirecting them to the main canvas page instead of the
the group page directly. Is there a way to handle this if the user hasn''t
installed the app, I tried redirect_back_or_default in one of my controllers

NoScript allow scripts globally reversible?
...window and

'Create Profile', give it a name, and use that whenever you get into a
Firefox / Extensions conflict on a particular web site.
I have my Firefox panel launcher set up to use 'firefox -P

with multiple websites at the price of a trivial delay during the
browser start-up.
This problem is the result of recent changes made to the extensions
interface. I can hardly wait to see what is broken with v57.

Running a command at startup
Does your version of CentOS have the @reboot crontab option? If it does this is probably easier unless you want to learn how to write systemd files.

question about documentation for the new beta 4 of ice cast
I have been reading the README for icecast beta 4 and I came acrossed a
line that isn''t very explicit can some one explain to me what needs to
happen here?
You WILL need to edit the config file you choose to use before running
this application. When documentation is revised tthis may be a good thing
to be a little more explicit on.

help with knn.impute
Hi
I have a dataset from biological data with forty samples whichh relate to four
different treatments. Each sample has thousands of values but as usuual contains
missing values
I want to use knn to imput these missing values. I am doing tthis using
knn.impute. Do I need to specify the various groups or can I just use the
knn.impute command on the whole dataset together.
Also I am setting the maxp argument to the total number of values for each
sample. Is this the correct thing to do?
Thanks in advance

Help with Amelia
Hi
I have used the amelia command from the Amelia R package. this gives me a number
of imputed datasets.
This may be a silly question, but i am not a statistician, but I am not sure how
to combine these results to obtain the imputed dataset to usse for further
statistical analysis. I have looked through the amelia and zelig manuals but
still can not find the answer. This maybe because I dont
