Azure AD Connect and replication issues / WORKAROUND
hello all
just to summarize this topic for anybody else.
after some time spent with tshooting there seems is a sufficient
workaround for this issue: disable "sync of password hashes" option
within Azure AD connect tool.
with disabling this option all three issues (CPU/Bandwidth
utilization/replication logs) are gone!
seems that for now the only working option for samba and A...

"DNS name does not exist" when joining Samba PDC domain
I am attempting to join a domain managed by a Samba PDC from several
Windows machines, both Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP
Professional. They all give a similar error. The Windows 2000 error
gives me a URL that redirects to:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/dns/tshoot/dns_tshoot2A.asp
The XP error is attached.
Any idea how I can fix this problem? If necessary, I can modify the DNS
zone (on a BIND nameserver), but I've never had to do so in the past at
similar installations and I don't know what to add to BIND.
This is Samba 3.0.2a. There is only one...

is this a DNS resolution problem ?
...I thought resolved : when joining a
domain, sometimes the workstation says it cannot join, or the domain
does not exist, or something like that, because there is a DNS
resolution probleme. I read the Micro$oft documentation listed in the
error message
(http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/dns/tshoot/dns_tshoot2A.asp)
I solved the problem, the first time, by activating netbios over TCP/IP
on each workstation. All workstation joined the domain. Good.
But some days after, noone can connect with these workstations : the
domain does not exist ! (and yes, I checked if smbd service was running...)...

PXE install in a boot on san with LVM environment, fails after reboot
Hello,
I need to automate installation of CentOS 7.0 using PXE and kickstart.
My server is diskless, I'm installing CentOS on a 25GB LUN on a FC SAN
with 4 paths. This LUN is the only one accessible by the server.
Anaconda processes successfully the installation. But on reboot, I get
stuck on a prompt after BIOS. I think I have an issue with storage
configuration / bootloader

Azure AD Connect and replication issues
Hi Michal,
Seems we are doing similar things at the moment: getting samba to work
with azure AD.
We also see the high CPU usage on the DC that the Azure AD Connect
server connected to. Between 70 - 100 percent in our case.
We are not seeing any replication issues after azure AD Connect, and I
have a script that automatically checks replication every few minutes.
I was the one reporting the

...d samba 4.8.12, but since moving to 4.12 I
didnt tested this), we have (as recommended) one AAD connector plus two
authentication agents deployed in our environment.
the thing what I dont understand is the amount of data which is
connector getting each day (~50GB). I have to check AAD connector tshoot
tool to understand whether there are some issues (like sync will not get
properly completed and therefore it is always retrying).
but from AAD point of view all looks fine - in AAD portal I see the sync
is done every 30 minutes without errors.
but this is definitely not correct behaviour regar...

Ralph B?hme, we should also be able to make it work) :-)
Thanks for updating here!
