Samba4 questions?
...ms to be working well, but I have some questions
about migrating users from an existing Samba3 domain and specifying a
SID/RID instead of just taking whatever value the system hands out to me.
I've spent weeks trying to find answers on Google, but have turned up empty
so far.)

that I actually end up having to learn more about administering WINDOWS!

Migrate Users from existing Samba4 Domain?
...a Fedora 16 base, which includes Bind 9.8 by default (not to
mention a bucketload of other updates).
My question: What is the best way to pull the current domain data from the
first server to the second one? In particular, I'm looking at users,
groups and computer accounts.

Won't execute LOGON.CMD?
...as that user, the home drive map is correct, but the
logon script does not appear to run. If I copy-n-paste the file name into
explorer, it immediately runs without any problem.
Is this a Windows profile setup issue or a server permissions issue? What
setting am I missing???

you gather information. The trick is to boil it down and enter it on the

Thanks!

Samba 4 Re-provisioning
What's best practice when it comes to changing a samba4 provision,
without screwing current domain objects (users, computers, policy etc)?
If, for example, I wanted to change the DNS from internal to external
bind9, is it just a case of re-running 'provision' with the different
command line option or will that mangle the domain sid etc?
Cheers,
Mike.

(D)DNS Updates with GNU/Linux clients in a samba 4 AD environment (BIND_DLZ)
Hi !
I bounce on the Mr Sloop's post ([Samba] DDNS / DHCPd && Internal DNS or
BIND_DLZ) to ask what's the easiest way to allow Linux clients to update
themself their DNS record in the Samba4 AD server (with BIND_DLZ Dns
server).
It works well with windows clients, but with Linux clients joined to the
domain, with a valid Kerberos ticket, the client receive a error

how to allow ISC dhcpd to add/update entries to bind9 with bind_dlz (samba4)
Hello all,
I have set up a samba4 server with bind9 and the bind_dlz module.
Everything is working as it should but now I need to allow the dhcp
server to add entries to the forwarding zone. Has anybody implemented
such a configuration ? Can this be done with the kerberos DNS dynamic
update configuration.
I want to achieve the following:
1) allow non-Windows machines (printers, ILO ...) to be

Samba4 for AD using existing LDAP, Kerberos, and Bind Setup.
We run Apple's OD to support our Linux, Mac, and Windows clients and servers. We are under pressure to use AD because more and more software coming out for Windows requires it. We don't want to use AD, so Samba4 looks good. However, we don't want to pull apart our directory to implement samba4. Is there a way to get Samba 4 running so that it is able to use the existing LDAP and

(This is the Team's agreed statement explaining the role of the two
build systems in Samba 4.0. Please, if you have can't use the waf build
system, and so need the autoconf system for 4.0, reply and let us know
your reasons and needs here or in the specific threads I'm raising on
