Re: Asterisk bandwidth tuning?
Well, I don't know how to tune it more, it connects at about that rate in a mediocre rural landline. ILBC uses samples of 30ms, so if you set the trunkfreq set to 20 you will be using more of the necesary scarce bandwidth AND dropping sample info in each frame, thus making audio choppy and unclear. Make shure to disallow all codecs and then allow only ILBC or lpc10 (search for it in iax.conf), use the one that gives better results in your case. lpc1...

Re: Asterisk bandwidth tuning?
I have an installation that connects in a [very] good day at 22kbps, but the normal is about 18kbps. I use de ILBC codec, and also change in iax.conf the trunkfreq = 20 to trunkfreq = 30 It works, you can understand well the other person, but don't expect miracles or an outstanding sound quality. > Dear Dan; > > Thanks alot for your kindly reply. > > Well, what u advise us to use if the bandwidth is about 22kbps (dial up > connection...

Maximum tollerable lag/jitter for IAX2 w/o jitterbuffer enabled?
...erminated. Nothing odd shows in any of the logs for Asterisk or the host. The only think I can think it might be is a lag-spike on the site to site connection. How sensitive is IAX2 to lost frames, lag spikes or large variations in jitter with the GSM codec and: bandwidth=low jitterbuffer=no trunkfreq=100 ; Raised from 20 tos=lowdelay notransfer=no trunk=no All calls are running as GSM, even though g.729 is also an 'allowed' codec (w/5 licenses installed). IAX bandwidth optimisation
...all is passed through an IAX trunk, the IP overhead is indecent. I would like to increase the IAX voice packet emission interval (20ms - i'm using speex) to something much larger, in order for the packets to transport as much data as possible. I've been trying to fuddle with the "trunkfreq" parameter and push it to 80ms, but that did not change the voice packet rate at all. How can I change that voice packet rate ? Thanks ! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/attachments/2...

iax2 trunk - unable to accept trunk packet
I have 1 * box having x100p installed and the other has no zaptel card at all. both of the * box has compiled in ztdummy module and both have been activated by modprobe ztdummy. When using trunk to connect the 2 *box. The one without zaptel card complaint about unable to accept trunked packet: no matching peer. On the one has zaptel card I have tried to remove the ztdummy module and connect
