Anyone installed the amazon downloader on 5.1?
Just tried to install the Amazon-downloader on Centos 5.1 (the Fedora 8
version, which seems the closest match of any they offer).
Of course it gets a bazillion unfulfilled dependencies. so I tried
"yum localinstall ./a*m" and it trundles along for a while finding several
of the packages available then spews out this:
Error: Missing Dependency: libboost_date_time.so.3 is needed by package amazonmp3
Error: Missing Dependency: libboost_signals.so.3 is needed by package amazonmp3

Konqueror Ajax update
...in a browser!. I used the default refresh rate
of 2
Since I have a Slackware box, and there is currently a client''s KUbuntu box
in the workshop, I fired up two separate "localhost" WEBrick''s, and ran
Firefox and Konqueror on both Linux boxes (with the XP Laptop having IE
trundling along, taking 30 seconds extra on each cycle but going strong).
Then, after just eight minutes, both Konqueror processes on the two boxes

I reported the crash to Konqueror (enclosing the KDE Krash handler
Backtrace), and...

The deal is that my son wants to move to Linux on his desktop, but still have access to particular games that he plays. The laptop is the testbed. Before trying to install any of the games, I tried out three applications that I find useful, Orbitron, Country Codes and

Re: Problem with AJAX not working on IE
...x) on a
slackware box running WEBrick on RadRails; with firefox and Konqueror (!)
3.4.2 anyway) everything fine; on laptop talking to my linux box, firefox
does it instantaneously; but... IE DOES DO it, but takes a full 31
seconds!!! (The RadRails WEBrick console shows the POST immediately, but IE
trundles for a full 31 seconds to cough up the change in the text).
