Centos 5 [Beta] on 3ware 9650se controller
Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that CentOS 5 Beta (or likely final)
supports the 3ware 9650se card. Since 3ware hasn't released a driver disk
yet, I put one together. It supports CentOS 5 Beta, and may/should support
Final. If anyone is interested, I've posted it here:

can't ping to an internal IP through tinc's virtual interfaces (fwd)
AUGHHHHH I accidentally sent that message below before changing my from address to
jason+tinclist@truedesign.com ... now my "real" address is on
http://mail.nl.linux.org/tinc/2003-07/maillist.html where it is just begging
to be harvested by spambots looking for addresses to add to their spam
lists. I've tried so hard to keep my address spam free for a long time
(and I've been successful...

my two hosts don't see each other
Hi:
First of all, thanks for this great piece of software!
I found very clear the presentation sheets used at Linux Expo,
Amsterdam. :-)
About my problem, I setup everything to connect our two boxes.
If I type 'ifconfig' I can see them up. Also the routes.

tinc on windowsxp: success :-)
Well, its not a port of tinc to windows, but I am successfully using tinc
on my Windows XP box at work to allow it to communicate directly with the
machines on my home LAN (which have private IPs behind NAT).
The problem: no port of tun/tap to windows. so no virtual ethernet driver.
The solution: VMWare Workstation
VMWare comes with a virtual ethernet driver and has a very flexible

late or replayed packet warning
I get a lot of these in my log, especially when I am moving lots of traffic
across the vpn:

holden (xx.yy.zz.ww port 655), seqno 37609, last received 37610

What exactly is this trying to say? Surely this doesn't simply mean that
the udp packets arrived in a

Another idea for tinc on windows
Since the lack of code to implement a virtual network adapter driver
(tun/tap equivalent) seems to be the primary roadblock preventing a tinc
port to Windows, has anyone given any thought to the idea of implementing
a very basic pptp server front-end for the tinc code (in place of the
tun/tap driver) whose sole purpose would be to allow a windows PPTP client
connection to connect to it via a
