tap:aio
I have never been able to get tap:aio devices running. When I try it in a Linux PV domain, it says: XENBUS: Waiting for devices to initialise: 295s... And they don''t work in my GPLPV drivers, which is the problem I am trying to solve, but I''d like to see them work under Linux first. Is there anything extra I need to do? I have loaded the xenblktap module (forgot to do this

handling spaces in R invocation scripts
...path/to/script with spaces.R" Perhaps, though, this syntax would be better: ./R-devel CMD BATCH -o outfile.Rout -- --args "a=argument 1" arg2 arg3 "/path/to/script with spaces.R" The patch also does away with extraneous curly brackets around variables. This probably trounces someone's shell-scripting style, but functionally, they're useless, and visually, they don't accomplish anything that a syntax-colorizing editor won't already make obvious. -- Nathan Coulter

Recommendation(s)
List, It looks like I may have to drop back to a 32-bit version of the OS due to some non-resolvable library issues for the software I'm attempting to compile, and want to ask, how far back can I go with CentOS where I'd not lose too much functionality of the 4.1 version. Essentially what I need is the equivalent of RHES 3. The other thing I'd thought about would be to

multi threaded theoretically useful?
So here''s a random question: if a (Ruby) multi-threaded rails server could exist (bug free), would it be faster than using a mongrel cluster? (I.e. 10 mongrel processes versus 10 Ruby threads). I''m not sure if it would. RAM it might save, though. Any thoughts? -Roger -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

How to dump/restore a CentOS 7 system
Hello All, I guess it is very common for administrative purpose, to dump and restore a CentOS 7 system. I usually use dump/restore commands. However, I?m having trouble to handle installing bootloader and creating initramfs for C7 system. Does anyone know a good document source that details those procedure? Thank you, Xinhuan Zheng

Slightly OT: FakeRaid or Software Raid
I have had great luck with nvidia fakeraid on RAID1, but I see there are preferences for software raid. I have very little hands on with full Linux software RAID and that was about 14 years ago. I am trying to determine which to use on a rebuild in a "standard" CentOS/Xen enviroment. It seems to me that while FakeRaid is/can be completely taken care of in dom0 dmraid whereas with

OT: Best DB
I know this is a bit off topic but we are using Asterisk :) Since this list is full of tech gurus w/ all different sorts of backgrounds, I thought I would get the best opinions here. We have several different switches and other telecom equipment at our facilities which all have their own proprietary cdr platforms, which are rather limited. The company I work for is looking to develop their
