read.table
Hi, I have a question on read.table. I have a dataset with 273,000 lines and 195 columns. I used the read.table to load the data into R: trn<-read.table('train1.dat', header=F, sep='|', na.strings='.') I found it takes forever. then I run 1/10 of the data (test) using read.table again. And this time it finished quickly. So, there might be something wrong in my data format causing that problem. then, my quest...

Hello, I'm trying to import into R files that contain data downloaded from logger devices as files with the following formats: .act .lig .trj .trn These files are essentially text files but use both tabs and commas as separators. I've tried the function scan: 1) scan("filename.act", what=character(0)) returns only two columns from the original 5 2) scan("copia.act", what=character(0),sep=",") returns three c...

[RFC] Extending shufflevector for vscale vectors (SVE etc.)
...hese lines, we could specify a shuffle mask as a tree of operations: for example, "zip(first_vector, reverse(second_vector))". We can add more shuffles to the list. There are a few SVE shuffle instructions which are not equivalent to any of the basic operations I've listed: ext and trn. And it's possible to construct other shuffles out of sequences of multiple instructions. (Some of the additional shuffles we could specify would require an integer parameter, or an integer parameter list; it should be possible to support that without any major changes to the proposal.) -Eli

Queues with really short timeouts
...umber to a call answering service when the phones in his office aren't answered within a few seconds. Calls to the main number go into a queue which then rings all the phones in the office. I've changed the timeout in queues.conf to 5, and also modified the queue line to read Queue (office,trn,,,5) (r = no retry) Theoretically, this should mean the queue rings for 5 seconds, then drops out to the next command (the call to the divert service). However, what seems to be happening is that the queue runs once, then shows the following in the console: -- Nobody picked up in 5000 ms The queue...

Once I get this working, I want to set it up to exclude files in that directory matching the filename MyDatabase*.TRN. If I do a dry run, it appears that it will work successfully (attached at the very end of this message), but when I remove the --dry-run, it fails.
