oplock behavior of samba 3.2.6 causes corruption of netscape mailbox files, mails seem to be received doubly or triply
...rs in our terminal server environment.
There were never problems with these files. After upgrading from samba
3.0.21 to 3.2.6 (sernet-built) the mailbox files of nearly all users got
corrupt while working with netscape.
We got the following symptoms. The users seem to receive their emails
doubly or triply. After closing netscape, deleting the mailboxes index
files an restarting netscape the mails were shown normally again.
Preventing oplocks on the mailboxes index files (*.msf) didn't solve the
problem. Because the mailbox files have no file extensions, we had to
disable oplocks on the whole sha...

ext3-image doesn't mount anymore and reports errors
...ice or resource busy
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
We also tried to mount it on another system than our backup-machine -
without success but with the same error.
Fsck.ext3 ends in lots of inode-errors and the following one:
Error while iterating over blocks in inode 131736: Illegal triply
indirect block found
e2fsck: aborted
Using an alternative superblock (32768) results in the same error.
Due to the fact that this is our only backup of this machine it is
really important for us at least to read this image and get some data
off it.
We are also willing to pay a fair amount of mone...

Some questions about function usage
...ecently, I am coding a program about read and write control.
And there are some questions confusing me.
1.
In info libext2fs:
Function: errcode_t ext2fs_get_blocks (ext2_filsys FS, ext2_ino_t
INO, blk_t *BLOCKS)
Returns an array of blocks corresponding to the direct, indirect,
doubly indirect, and triply indirect blocks as stored in the inode
structure.
So I wrote some codes like following:
blk_t target_blks[EXT_N_BLOCKS];
retval = ext2fs_get_blocks(fs, ino, target_blks);
printf("[percentage]u [percentage]u [percentage]u",
*target_blks, target_blks[1], target_blks[2]);
P.S. [percentage...

how well will this work
Hi Folks,
I find myself trying to expand a 2-node high-availability cluster from
to a 4-node cluster. I'm running Xen virtualization, and currently
using DRBD to mirror data, and pacemaker to failover cleanly.
The thing is, I'm trying to add 2 nodes to the cluster, and DRBD doesn't
scale. Also, as a function of rackspace limits, and the hardware at
hand, I can't separate
