PgSQL development libraries?
Hi, I am trying to compile an application (PowerDNS) with PostgreSQL support. Where do the PowerDNS libraries get installed under CentOS? I am constantly getting the error checking for PgSQL library directory... configure: error: Didn't find the pgsql library dir in '/usr/include/lib/pgsql /usr/include/pgsql /usr/include' -- "I never look back darling, it distracts from the

Multiple imputations : wicked dataset ? Wicked computers ? Am I cursed ? (or stupid ?)
Dear list, I'd like to use multiple imputations to try and save a somewhat badly mangled dataset (lousy data collection, worse than lousy monitoring, you know that drill... especially when I am consulted for the first time about one year *after* data collection). My dataset has 231 observations of 53 variables, of which only a very few has no missing data. Most variables have 5-10% of

getting R-readable data , not pictures, from US OTS "data" pages
...downloading and integration with R easy? They have mailing lists to which you can subscribe that announce new data but then you get these things like PDF files with tables of numbers and the PR releases don't obviously have links to related csv or other data files. For example, http://www.ots.treas.gov/?p=StatisticalReleases&ContentRecord_id=1bd8494f-0909-404b-8048-1468f754537f after surfing for a few moments on their website I still didn't find any ASCII data files. Now, of course I can run pdftotext on the pdf, historically with pdf's this has been a huge accomplishment, and p...

Samba errors
Hi, We are trying to start and use Samba with a very simple configuration. We are just trying to connect to an existing Windows AD Domain and trying to mount filesystems from the AIX 5.3TL12 server to a Windows server. Can someone tell me what the error really means for nmbd and where should I start to look to resolve it? log.samba: smbd version 3.5.8 started. Copyright Andrew Tridgell

Strange behaviour with pending specs and implementation_backtrace
Hi all, I''m using my own OutputFormatter with /bin/spec to catch rspec results. I''m experiencing strange behaviour with pending specs and implementation_backtrace. This is my example_pending implementation in rspactor_formatter.rb: class RSpactorFormatter def example_pending(example, message) spec = SpecObject.new( :name => example.description,

time server synchronization
My apologies if this question has been answered here or is an FAQ, however I was unable to find it in my searches. I'm in the process of setting up a time server for our site, but I want them to be UNIX boxes instead of NT boxes. With that in mind, I installed Samba 2.0.3 on my HP-UX 10.20 box. Samba is on this machine strictly so that it can be accessed by Windows machines as a time

No subject
So far, I've had a couple of suggestions to add the line security = server to my smb.conf file, but no luck thus far. As a matter of fact, I get the Error 86 message when I try to run net time, even if I've already established a share on the server! FWIW, I'm including my smb.conf file as well as log.smb with a debug level of 10. I'd appreciate it if anyone could point me in the
