Direct X Input
Good Evening, I have an app that is not in the app database entitled RealFLight G4. I have it installed, but ut used the Direct X input method to talk to a hand held joystick like controller in which is embedded security and copy protection. The application is griping about not being able to find the Interlink Controller. In dmesg it shows up and is usable in other applications, so Linux

adding song metadata
What is the best way to add song metadata (artist, album, title, etc.) to flac files? I want to be able to define an arbitrary number of FIELD=value pairs. Earlier I heard someone mention using id3 tags. I tried this with the command-line "id3v2", and while it seemed to work I noticed that the resulting file no longer began with "fLaC", which violates the format

quick and easy way to convert id3-tagged flac to flac-tagged flac?
So before i knew better, i encoded a lot of my CDs in flac and added id3 tags (they worked, so great!). Shouldn't be too tough, but i'd rather not reinvent the wheel. danno -- dan pritts danno@umich.edu 734-929-9770

Obviously this is incorrect, but why is it reported as such? I've cut and paste a few commands below from my shell to illustrate what I'm seeing: black:/media/mildred/music/Tool/10,000 Days$ file -i *

Total Tracks Tag?
...tely, these used different fields for "Total # of Tracks", so I became rather confused -- and regardless, they didn't talk to each other. Ogg Drop X used TRACKTOTAL while Vorbis Rage used TOTALTRACKS Either is fine and natural, but we need a standard. For comparison: ID3v2 uses the TRCK field, where it stores for instance 4/13 (track 4 of total 13) iTunes.xml (the iTunes database) uses the "Track Count" field (for "total number of tracks") RFC ----------------------------------- I propose: TRACKTOTAL for "Total Number of Tracks on this Disc" ...and...
