Sequence analysis with TraMineR 1.2
Dear R users,
The TraMineR package for mining, describing and visualizing sequences of
states or events, and more generally discrete sequential data has been
updated to version 1.2. Its primary aim is the analysis of biographical
longitudinal data in the social sciences, such as data describing
careers or family trajectories. Most of its features apply however also

MGCP Support for NAT
Does MGCP transverse NAT? Seeing as the only decent yet cheap IP phone
is the Swissvoice, it would be rather helpful.

[LLVMdev] insertion points for newly created instructions
Hi,
I've been scratching my head with a little problem: how to determine the
insertion point for a newly created instruction?
The operands of these instructions can be defined in different BBs, and they
may have several users. Thereby determining where to put those instructions
is not obvious. In my case, these instructions don't have side-effects, and
so they could be placed anywhere

from long/lat to UTM
Hi:
Is there any function in R which can convert the
long/lat to UTM(Universal Transverse Mercator)?
There are quite a few converters on Internet.
However, the interface is designed as input->output
which I can not convert lots of locations at the same
time.
Another question is whether there is a function in R
which can tell the time zone from the location's
lat/long?
Thank...

Shorewall + IPsec Tunnel
Hi everyone!
First of all, sorry about my bad English and the e-mails extension.
I need some help to implement a VPN connection using shorewall and openswan
as IPSec Tunnel.
My network map:
CLIENT VPN APPLIANCE --> +++INTERNET+++ --> FIREWALL --> OPENSWAN SERVER
(DMZ)
I have two VPN connections with two different subnets to the other end. The
two of then are correctly established.

Asterisk 13 queue and DND phones
Hi,
I've noticed that when I set a phone on DND (phone-side DND, meaning it
rejects calls with a busy status, SIP 486 response code I believe) the
queue keeps on trying the phone over and over again.
This creates issues in terms of CDR entries - in a scenario where there is
only one phone on DND, and a delay between attempts of 1 second, the queue
will attempt to ring the single phone

Confusion over how to configure WINS
We have a network of about 24 remote site all connecting to our home
office across a mixture of private frame relay and VPN across the internet.
In order to simplify our life, and at the same time, reduce the amount of
non critical and chatty traffic transversing the WAN links during business
hours, we are putting servers at each remote to do DHCP, DNS, WINS, and file
and print sharing. From the

Is wxRuby-SWIG version usable enough to package for download?
If wxRuby-SWIG is as usable as wxRuby 0.6.0, maybe it should be given a
version number and packaged up for download.
Given the nature of SWIG, having a lot more people use it would probably
result in more code contributions to this project.
Seems most of the changes are 2+ months old, so I''m guessing wxRuby-SWIG
is fairly stable right now in terms of frequency of changes...

Q about IAX (and IAXy)
This is somewhat related to my other query on the list regarding NAT
traversal.
I have heard many times that IAX is "NAT-transperant". I am unsure how
it accomplishes this.
I do know that SIP works like this: your SIP device send a request to
the SIP server (usually on port 5060) with whatever command. The SIP
server respends to your device's "apparent" IP and port (this

Polycom behind NAT won't register to * server behind ALG
I?ve been tearing my hair out trying to get a Polycom phone (behind a NAT) to register to an * box behind a Cisco SIP ALG. With known good credentials configured on the phone and in *, I get 403 Bad Auth when trying to register. If I put the phone onto the same LAN as * it works fine without changing any authentication parameters whatsoever. If I make the secret blank (null) on the phone and *,

Using Sangoma Call Progress Analysis behind NAT router
I work at home with standard residential cable Internet service and I wanted to test CPA for use with our dialer solution. The first problem I ran into is that CPA only works with a SIP provider that does IP based authentication opposed to usename/password authentication. After I got an account setup to solve that problem I thought I was on my way to being able to test.
No so.
I got asterisk

One machine, two net feeds, outbound route selection
Hello, world!
Sorry to subscribe to the list only to immediately ask a question,
but this one''s got me scratching my head and I can''t find the answer
in the archives, the HOWTO, or on the web. Maybe I''m just asking the
wrong question.
Anyway, our Internet gateway is a Linux box. We''ve got two Internet
feeds, a fast one from a crummy provider, and a

mge-xml.c voltage conversion problem
Dear Arjen, Arnaud et al,
I've just organized an MGE UPS with Ref. 66074 SNMP/Web Transverse Card
for testing purposes.
Months ago I found a quite simple bug in the UPS-MIB implementation
of this card and Schneider Electric guys seemed not to have intention
and/or knowledge to fix it.
Now local representative sent me an MGE "Pulsar Extreme 2000 VA" model
in order to find an alt...
