...uot;advanced routing" stuff, like marking those packets with fwmark and building a separate routing table for them, but alas. Notice that the two machines are on the same LAN segment. I''ve already tried also some userspace solutions, which didn''t work, like redir, tircproxy, transproxy, etc. but they didn''t work either, complaining abount not able to bind to non-local port. And yes (mr. Brown), I know about the /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_nonlocal_bind switch, listed in plorf.net/linux-ip/. Any suggestions (or help) are very much welcome. 10q for your time, Nickola

My current rules for the redirect are: REDIRECT loc 81 tcp www - !192.168.100.0/24 ACCEPT fw net tcp www How do I set this so that all the request are redirected except for requests FROM a certain machine (192.168.100.11)? Routing/forwarding/shaping problems in v2.2.x (Long - sorry)
...fter about a month of uptime, this will get to the point where most connections fail on most interfaces, and the only cure I have found is a reboot. Connections that are actually physically proxied by using NetCat (where the source address doesn''t need to be preserved) or redir (with --transproxy where the source address does need to be preserved) work fine, and don''t experience the same problem at all. Obviouly, I would prefer to use the "ipmasqadm portfw" solution because it is massively more memory/CPU efficient than a generic user-space tcp proxy deamon running f...
