Relay-only icecast with no encoders.

Any ideas how can I fix it?

Transparent Proxy -Does it work ?
...ed: 17/May/2001:20:02:50
End of threads listing (10 listed)
I have tested this on my Redhat linux (i386) 7.0 server with 2.4.x
kernel at home, and my Redhat linux 7.0 with standard 2.2.16-22 kernal
at work with the same problems.
I beleive I have setup the configuration file correctly, setting
transparent_proxy to 1 and configuring the server_name directive to a
valid DNS hostname on my home machine, and a valid static IP on my work
machine. I am using icecast 1.3.10, have tried both the rpm's, compiling
from the source distribution and compiling the latest cvs code with the
same results. I use Wi...

icecast+liveice in normal user fail
I would like to use icecast and liveice as my normal account.
If I do so, using xmms, I can access the relayed radios I have defined,
but I cannot listen th the playlist liveice is broadcasting on /disk. XMMS
tells me that the specified stream could not be found.
If I launch icecast as root however, it works fine. I've searched through
the logs and checked the file permissions but I

Exactaly, I would recommend the mod_mp3 project for something like that.
http://media.tangent.org/
They are doing almost exactaly what sound like you are looking for. There
is also the project 'ampache' that takes this one step further and adds a
MySQL database backend to a PHP front.

Icecast deadlock with 1.3.12 (fixed)
...this point, that thread is locked up, and
eventually the second connection handler thread tries to lock it, and
the calendar thread too. The original server is unable to send data so
it kicks the relay and the server is hosed.
The potential fix for this is cleaning up the mutex during the
transparent_proxy configuration (source.c:681) so it behaves like
like the 'alias' one a few lines up. (So a change to the code went from
this (line 684):
xa_debug (1, "DEBUG: Trying transparent proxy with host:
[%s]",req->host);
if ((sourcecon = relay_pull_stream (req, &err)))
to...
