Connections, but no voice paths except by console
I have a software-only PBX set up. I can register various softphones and
they will call each other -- but I've never succeeded in getting any
voice routed from any of the softphones. Only the console will transmit
audio.
I am writing to ask if I have missed some obvious step in configuring
the system.

Time sync
Hy Guys,
My samba version: 4.0.13
ntp version: 4.2.6p3
Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS
I have a weird problem, I sat up the time service via
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_NTP
On the servers I have no firewall.
This port is open when i check with nmap, ntp runs.
Looks like all of my Windows 7 clients works fine but w32tm /resync says
Permission denied 0x8007005, so not that good :)

help with annoying warning message: Asked to transmit frame type ulaw, while native formats is 0x2 (gsm) read/write = 0x2 (gsm)/0x2 (gsm)
Hi all,
i have a little problem to understand this warning message, it's annoying
and it cause a lot of spurious in the log files.
Im working with this scenario:
a sip outgoing trunk (Trunk-out) that support only ulaw and all calls are
always routed to this.
a list of sip UAs that potentially can use any codec apart g729/g723.
I setup the asterisk to do as mediaproxy so directmedia=no and

Audio Transmit, speex
Hi,
I am transmitting audio over the network by creating an RTP session for each media track.
I am using the GSM media format. I'm still having a delay in the transmit if the receivers end is a slow network.
Hence i am looking forward to use speex codec to compress the audio further before transmitting.
Is there is any one who as implemented it?
If so, please send me an example code so

Can i prioritize my jobs with RSYNC ?
Suppose we have about 1000 files at location 'A' & 500 files at location 'B'
& we want them to be transmitted to each other (not exactly synchronizing
two location). RSYNC can do that, no issues on that. But i have few
queries further.
My first query:
1. Can we make some sort of queuing procedure alongwith or through RSYNC.
Like in which we can provide priorities to

Oneway Audio
Hi all,
I did not get this error in Asterisk 1.2.5 release. I am testing on Asterisk
SVN-trunk-r15187 to avail the PARKEDAT variable.
- I park the call using ParkAndAnnounce
- plays moh.
- accept the call using ParkedCall
The following errors are coming on the console and there is oneway audio -
no audio after Music-On-Hold at caller's side. Please advice.
I am testing using cisco 7902

[PATCHv2] virtio-spec: virtio network device multiqueue support
At Jason's request, I am trying to help finalize the spec for
the new multiqueue feature.
Changes from Jason's rfc:
- reserved vq 3: this makes all rx vqs even and tx vqs odd, which
looks nicer to me.
- documented packet steering, added a generalized steering programming
command. Current modes are single queue and host driven multiqueue,
but I envision support for guest driven

rsync: transmitting always whole files
Hi,
I use rsync in the following way to update some remote files over a low
bandwidth line:
rsync -v -r -z -t -p <local dir> <user>@<host>:<dir on host>
After updating from rsync 2.5.2 to 2.5.4 I noticed that modified files are
always copied completely. The problem seems to be related to the new (in
2.5.3) option -no-whole-file. The global variable whole_file is

This doesn't make any sense to me, either. There can't be more packages
transmitted than received. It's the same codec in and out and it's been
running exactly the same time.

Reclaiming transmit descriptors by NIC drivers with Crossbow new scheduling
The following is mainly a capture of parts of multiple off-line
discussions within members of the Crossbow team
(Gopi, Thiru, Roamer, May-Lin, Thirumailai, Nitin, KB, ...), I thought
I''d open it up to other participants.
Crossbow''s core scheduling involves switching a NIC (or individual Rx
rings on the NIC) to polling mode.
The receive interrupt will become not only rarer,

Performance Issue on Samba 3.023d with many small files
I am transmitting many small files from Windows 2000 to Samba as
AD-Member Server with a Gigabit LAN Adapter.
Transmitting a large number of small files brings performance down below
80 Kbyte/s.
How can I work around this?
How can I identify what makes Samba so slow (and set-up Samba parameters
better if it is a configuration issue?)
Has there been some performance boost in some later release
