if problem in function
Dear all, I have written a function for calculating the volume of a tree (=trad) or snag (=h?gst). The included volume regreesion model includes ten parameter values, which are tree species specific. bj?rk.formh?jd.pars is an object which includes the parameter values (parameter set) for birch (=bj?rk). There is one row per tree in the data object. > relev.kols[1:5, c(...

[PATCH 2/3] V5 qemu-xen-trad: Correctly expose PCH ISA bridge for IGD passthrough
The i915 driver probes chip version through PCH ISA bridge device / vendor ID. Previously, the PCH ISA bridge is exposed as PCI-PCI bridge in qemu-xen-trad, which breaks the assumption of the driver. This change fixes the issue by correctly exposing the ISA bridge to domU. [PATCH 2/3] qemu-xen-trad: Correctly expose PCH ISA bridge for IGD . [PATCH 3/3] qemu-xen-trad: IGD passthrough: Expose vendor specific Thanks, Timothy

xen_platform_pci
I tried setting xen_platform_pci=0 on my test ubuntu 11.10 livecd VM hoping it would run in HVM only mode, but the guest''s logs showed it detecting the Xen host and loaded the PV netfront driver (after modprobe). Is this expected behavior? Is there no way to force HVM only and not PVHVM or total PV? Setup: Xen Unstable Qemu Upstream Thanks, David

round(1.5) = round(2.5) = 2?
Dear R-users with a bit of grief I had to repeat an extensive analysis because I did not suspect (and therefore did not read the documentation) that round was implemented as "for rounding off a 5, the IEC 60559 standard is expected to be used, 'go to the even digit'", resulting in round(1.5) = 2 round (2.5) = 2. As a non-mathematician I am both puzzled and intrigued by

Notes from Xen BoF at Debconf15
...some users raised some issues towards the end. Embedding in xen.git ==================== We are much better about providing ways to use system-supplied components these days (since 4.4) and Debian uses them. Waldi noted that iPXE did not have such an option. Since that iPXE is only used by qemu-trad (for qemu-upstream the iPXE comes from the PCI ROM BAR) and Debian disabled qemu-trad it should be pretty quick to patch the build system to disable iPXE. Secondly it was noted that SeaBIOS is still built into hvmloader, which makes package updates harder (needs a binNMU of the Xen package to pick...

zfs raidz1 and traditional raid 5 perfomrance comparision
Hi, for zfs raidz1, I know for random io, iops of a raidz1 vdev eqaul to one physical disk iops, since raidz1 is like raid5 , so is raid5 has same performance like raidz1? ie. random iops equal to one physical disk''s ipos. Regards Victor -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

Strikethroughs and dashes
...died in -2006- wait, no, two-thousand-FIVE! Obviously strikethrough. I''m going on a trip - a long one - to the Virgin Islands. That''s got to be en dashes. Such a cheap, no-hassle, no-worry guarantee!! Hyphens, but can be confusing to parsers. All but the first work with Trad. RedCloth. Have you encountered other sticky scenarios I can add to the tests? Maybe I can scale back the strikethroughs in SuperRC? _why
