This is being offered gratis till the end of december by Mackie. This one might just be coaxed into running under Wine which would be quite an achievement. Kudos: 1. The program, though free, needs be registered to a "machine number". Did this under Windows, did not get that far using Wine. Might need a second copy just for the Linux runs. 2. This happens with either the OSS or the ALSA drivers uncommented. I have only gotten OSS working in the past. 3. More on Tracktion--I actually see audio devices with both of the above alternatives but any attempts to play with the program parameters hang up. As stated previously, its pop-up dialogs do not appear visibly (they are "loaded") although someone else did have them work.

...d and inactive! ABCMus (ABC editor/player) works fine. AnalogX Virtual Piano. Works fine of PC keyboard. Not off MIDI in device. This might have been this way all along. Harbal (Mastering equalizer) DEMO works fine. Awaiting a native Linux versin of this one (WxWidgets). Then I'll buy it. Tracktion-1 (They were giving this away for a while. Version 2 is out.) Still does not show its dialogs (tk!). ALt-F4 disimisses the invisible dialog. Sound never played in this one but so tantalizingly close as the main window panes work 100%. More to follow ...
