Changing file info with oggcomment
Hello ;-) I'm a totally newby working the first time with ogg vorbis. The problem I have is this: I ripped Musik CD's with the Program Exact Audio Copy (EAC) and used the the newest vorbis tools to kompress the files. But I have made a mistake. With EAC I can give oggenc some parameters with a commandline. So I do it for the titel of the tracks. The commandline looks like this: -q 6

Re What HTML5 radio player do you use ?
I used MediaElement.js - far from great (no tracknames) but it does usually work on mobile (Android, I don't have an IOS machine to text but I suspect it will be Ok)?problem is with HTML5 is it's spotty across the browsers even on Mac, and on Android pre 4.1 forget it - some work, some don't. Firefox for instance is HTML5 on paper, in rea...

[Flac-users] Using Grip with FLAC
I looked around on the web, but I found no guidance on this subject, so I'm guessing. Here is what I came up with. It appears to work on a limited sample of CDs. Can anyone comment on whether or not this is OK? My system is Mandrake 9.0. My Grip is 3.0.1 (as supplied with Mandrake 9.0) My flac is 1.1.0, built from the source tarball. Mandrake ships with 1.0.3, which does not appear to have

A faster ogginfo
Good day all, I have a small collection of ogg files (5Gb) on my fileserver which I have mounted over NFS. My problem is that ogginfo takes too long to be used practically in programs like gqmpeg due to naturally wanting to do a full file check on each ogg file for valadity etc. My question/request is; is there a way to make ogginfo only look at the headers (ie, first K or two of data) and

libflac++ reading vorbis metadata
I'm trying to use libFLAC++ v1.1.2, to read Song information (like artist, trackname etc..). So.. I read metadata from file FLAC::Metadata::get_streaminfo("somefile.flac", infosik); and It's ok - no error, then I read vorbis info: FLAC::Metadata::VorbisComment vorbis_kom(infosik); int number_of_comments = vorbis_kom.get_num_comments(); and after that I have

Logging album info for ogg-vorbis
Hi, i just joined the list. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a change to icecast that logs album info as well as ARTST and TRACK. I have made the changes to the source code and it's working fine. If there is any interest, I could look into making it an addition to the code. Let me know. thanks, -- Aaron -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Possible bug in ogg123
I'm not sure who's this responsibility lies with, but I suspect something a little funny's going on. If I run ogg123 with arguments being tracknames, it consumes 60% of my processing resources: i.e. find /u1/media -name "*.ogg"| xargs ogg123 -z (with or without shuffling, it uses the same amount) But, if i write a list to a playlist, it uses 8% of resources: find /u1/media -name "*.ogg" > /u1/media/playlist.txt ogg123...

Title formatting for players/plugins
Hi, Peter Pawlowski's new (1.15beta) winamp decoder plugin seems quite nice, in my opinion.. The "title formatting logic" is what I've been dreaming of for ages.. Right now I've chosen "%artist / [[%[abbr20]album][-%[num2]tracknumber] / ]%title[ - %version]" I get titles such as "Artist / Title"or "Artist / Album / Title" or "Artist /

About Decode Streaming
Yes, I have tried plain wav data with file and stream functions of decoder and encoder. They work succesfully. You're right about FLAC can't find the first block in stream, because I didn't add any metadata in stream. The documentation of FLAC says that metadata callback function is optional for stream function of decoder, so I didn't need adding metadata. Actually, I am sure

Feedback on XML metadata namespace
Daniel, before you step over everything that has been done before, we need to determine what exactly is the use case for your new specification. What concerns metadata, we currently have: * vorbiscomment - this is a header at the beginning of a logical bitstream which has metadata that refers to the complete file; there is a specification, which has been public for a long time and is the
