samba-ad restart fails occasionally
Hi,
We are running sernet samba, and on one particular DC (debian 7.11,
samba 4.5.6), when logrotate is ready rotating, "sernet-samba-ad
restart" fails with:
> Shutting down SAMBA AD services : ...trying once more ... (warning).
> ...trying once more ... (warning).
.....
> ...trying once more ... (warning).
> Error: /usr/sbin/samba still running with PID=14755 from

Samba 4.8.1: spotlight enabled share can not connect to Tracker
...arch from command line.
So far I found that the above path "/nonexistent" is the home directory of the user connecting to the samba share. I would expect "/home/mdssvc" here.
My questions are:
- Is the problem based on the fact that samba can not connect to Tracker via dbus? (TRACKER_BUS_TYPE=system is set)
- How can I set the users mdssvc home directory to be used for the database access?
Thanks for your help and best regards,
Dirk

Spotlight / tracker-wrapper / DBUS
Hi,
Is there someone who could give me an advice about the correct usage of the
tracker-wrapper ?
As far as I understand the dbus service files must look like this:
[Service]
Type=simple
GuessMainPID=no
Environment="TRACKER_BUS_TYPE=system"
ExecStart=/usr/lib/tracker/tracker-wrapper tracker-extract
Restart=on-abort
User=mdssvc
Would this be the correct syntax?
Using Ubuntu 18.04 and
<https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/+package/libtracker-sparql-2.0-dev>
libtracker-sparql-2.0-dev
