I read something about R_CMethodDef in "Writing R Extensions" but I'm
not really sure where I should write it, may in the .First.lib.R or in a
separate file?
Any other possible mistakes?
We are using R 1.9.0 on Fedora Linux.
Thanks a lot, Toralf

[Bug 8456] New: improve --link-dest bahaviour
...Summary: improve --link-dest bahaviour
Product: rsync
Version: 3.0.8
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: core
AssignedTo: wayned at samba.org
ReportedBy: toralf.foerster at gmx.de
QAContact: rsync-qa at samba.org
Considering the following sequence I'd expect after the last command that the
file /tmp/rsync_test/c/rand1M would have the inode number 909377 - instead it
is a new copy of an unchanged file :-(
$ rm -rf /tmp/rsync_test/...

Installing a single rpm package from desktop/browser on CentOS 7
...ot;standard" alternative application? I know this was handle by
gnome-packagekit for a while, but its component for installation from
file seems to be gone. And, yeah, I know about rpm command line and yum
and all, but shouldn't there be a "more user-friendly" way?
Thanks.

Ping as regular user not allowed (CentOS Stream 8)

Actually, I can find several different ones via a simple web search, but
they are generally related to other distributions, I'm not quite sure
which would be the most appropriate for CentOS...
Thanks.

CentOS 7 package not present in Red Hat EL 7 - qt-assistant

machine.
Questions: Isn't CentOS base supposed to contain exactly the same
packages as Red Hat Enterprise, except in some special cases that relate
to distribution information, installation sources etc.? Does anyone know
what's going on with the specific package I mention above?

Copy to smb share fails with "invalid argument" on CentOS 7
...ng gvfs-copy. "cp" to the directory
mounted by gvfs works just fine, on the other hand. Also, the problem
does not occur with small files - I think anything below 64k is OK. The
following command sequence should illustrate the problem (note that some
of the names have been changed):
[toralf at osl-97214 ~]$ dd if=/dev/zero of=tst.zero bs=65537 count=1
1+0 records in
1+0 records out

Actually, I don't believe that's quite true. I've "cloned" to dissimilar
hardware in the same manner before, and found that there was special
handling of various hardware dependent config files, so that I didn't
get set-up? for the "wrong" type.
