Just search online why in general that is insecure via CLI vs programmatic
for first class automation.. there is a reason why snmp, rest, ... exist.

There is a reason most NMS systems used SNMP in the past and REST apis past
7+ years. They don't use CLIs except toy Expect type scripts.. Not just
security but better error handling and more.
Good luck learning!

If successful we'll be giving back to TINC monetarily in a big way to make
TINC even better so if TINC isn't for you keep an eye on further
developments in the future.

Instantiating middleman and worker from inside a model?
In short: how (if possible) would i go about arranging it so that i
can instantiate a middleman and set a worker going from within a
method in one of my models? or is this a weird thing to be wanting to
do? (
My specific situation: I have an ''Image'' model in my application. An
actual image file associated with the model is being stored on
amazons s3 system.

Is there a way to get rid of that?
I did a big add brick / remove brick operation before, followed by layout / migrate-data rebalance.

Slow SID to name translation in Windows Security tab (groups)
Hello
I'am using Samba 4.2.3 in CentOS 7.2.1511 (distro release) with openLdap
integration as standalone file server.
Everything works good, but when I want to use Windows extended ACLs
(right click on folder -> Properities, Security tab), translation of
SIDs to real group names is going realy slow.
Mentioned problem occours only when I add security permissions for
groups, user SIDs are

Is something similar available, or planned, for btrfs? I didn''t find

ipp2p Problem
Hello,
can anybody interpret what the following means:
[root@funke ipp2p-0.8.0]# iptables -t mangle -A MarkList0x666-ipp2p -p
tcp -m ipp2p --edk -j MarkSet0x666
iptables: Unknown error 4294967295

I have installed ipp2p-0.8.0 via:

copied ipt_ipp2p.ko to my kernel lib dir
copied libipt_ipp2p.so to my iptables lib dir
insmod ipt_ipp2p gives the following in dmesg:

Autocompletion for the new S3 generic @ method?
I agree, this is a good idea and would be very helpful in interactive contexts.
I have a draft patch implementing this feature here: https://github.com/r-devel/r-svn/pull/122
(Append ?.patch? to the URL to get a raw patch.)

How to make a symlink appear as a real file (for a Linux client)?
...he files in such directories
just fine.
I would rather expect that to happen on a Linux client, too (i.e., Linux
client should not see it as symlinks, but as real files/directories).
Where can I look for a solution?
I didn't find anything about it in smbmount nor in smb.conf manuals.

Also, it's inherently insecure for anything else - only SNMPv3 offers
any kind of encryption, and it's DES - 56 bit only, and you can easily
brute-force it on an average computer.
If you could provide some serious articles about why is CLI insecure,
I'd be interested to read.

allowing users to install printers
What is the easiest way to allow normal users to install printers (which
are available through a Samba server)?
Normally, Windows 2000 and XP need to have a printer installed by the
admin first on a given workstation - only the it can be used by the user.
I want to allow the user to install own printers.
Now, when one trises to right click on a printer on a server and

Why was encrypted communication in rsyncd never implemented? Some
technical disagreements? Nobody volunteered?
