idmap & migration to rfc2307
...ferent IDs for a user than samba would use for the same user.) Does that make it more clear for you? Also, at this time, this whole mailing list is about Samba, including winbindd. It is not about sssd. At some point in the future, a supported setup might be to have moved sssd and winbind closer toghether. In the scenario I have in mind, sssd would sit in nsswitch (and pam) but talk to winbindd for id mapping and talking to the AD domain (instead of sssd talking to AD and doing id-mapping itself). Winbindd itself would be more simple since it does not have to bother about nsswitch calls any more. Th...

Icecast log format
Due to my inability to find such a utility I'm going to hack something toghether (in Java most likely) to parse the icecast log files and insert the entries into an SQL database. Although I've managed to piece together most of the format for the access log the nature of a couple still elude me, as well as the organization of the icecast log. I've gone through the icecas...

beronet and tdm400p cards conflict?
Hi, I'm currently using a beronet quadBRI and a Digium tdm400P card on a Poweredge SC420 DELL with mandriva 2005 LE (standard installation) but this particular configuration gives me a problem: sometime the 2 cards work well toghether, sometimes it is impossible to make/receive calls. Is there anybody out there who is currently using this configuration without problems? TIA Giorgio

...he ipsec endpoint; the nmbd conf(if nmbd is itself a master browser or a wins server) should allow clients from one intranet to browse clients on the remote one. This subject is fairly more investigated on the internet forums; I want just that my final solution would allow both point n.1 and 2 go toghether without conflicts and thats why I'm explaining it. thanks to anyone for any help would give me. michele

You just don't use winbind to access them. You don't have a choice inside the samba server.

source login schemes
Hi, Could anyone tell me about the different login schemes sources can use to connect to IceCast, ShoutCast, etc? From what I can tell: ShoutCast uses something called icy login? IceCast uses something called x-audiocast, but can also use icy? IceCast2 uses what? Also, where can I find details about these login schemes? I sort of figured out a basic use of x-audiocast by looking at the JScream

Mixed mode import problem
First question: I have an Excel file with both character and numeric variables that I want to import to a data.frame, so I've saved the data to a tab-delimited text file. read.table : * Won't identify the mode of my character variables, as some of them contain only numbers and none of them are surrounded by quotes, * Won't allow me to specify the mode of my variables, * Doesn't

Samba installation discrepancies
Samba colleagues, I promise to limit my postings to this list to one message per day from now on, and to keep my messages focussed on very specific technical issues. I think I have gotten over my initial panic at the weirdly broken Samba installation and am now in a troubleshooting mode. The drama of all my Samba 3 difficulties now seems to be due to a faulty Samba installation. Symptoms

The best motherboard for a home ZFS fileserver
...ibly high and I''m lost. Minimum requisites should be: - working well with Open Solaris ;-) - micro ATX (I would put in a little case) - low power consumption but more important reliable (!) - with Gigabit ethernet - 4+ (even better 6+) sata 3gb controller Also: what type of RAM to select toghether? (I would chose if good ECC, but the rest?) Does it make sense? What are the possibilities? This message posted from opensolaris.org

Roadmap to future
...4 bytes to the expunged UIDs list. The space reserved for expunged UIDs list would be pretty small though, so when it gets full the file would be recreated. - dovecot.index.cache: Better disk I/O and CPU cache utilization by keeping data close together in the file when it's commonly accessed toghether. For example message sizes and dates for all messages could be close to each others to optimize SORTing by message size/date. If clients use conflicting access patterns, the data could be either duplicated to optimize both patterns or just let it be slower for the other pattern. Deliver / LMTP ser...

It can be exploited in this way http://homakov.blogspot.com/2013/05/do-not-use-rjs-like-techniques.html i find this bug very often so i know what i''m talking about. With it attacker can
